The White House's blanket refusal to cooperate with Democrats' inquiry will test Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her caucus in the days ahead.
President Donald Trump has set his strategy for the impeachment fight with House Democrats — minimum cooperation, maximum confrontation. Whether Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats have learned how to counter him is the big question.
Trump dramatically upped the political ante on Tuesday, with White House Counsel Pat Cipollone blasting the Democrasts’ impeachment inquiry as “illegal” and “dangerous,” and declaring the administration won’t cooperate with a probe it considers constitutionally improper.
Democrats now have to work quickly to determine how to contest Trump’s broadside as they push ahead with an investigation into whether the president abused his power in pressuring Ukraine to intervene in the 2020 election and investigate Joe Biden.
"Democrats have to stay very disciplined in adhering to that clear, cogent narrative that was written for us,” Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) said. "Their strategy of stonewalling and obstruction is significantly counterproductive and frankly puts them in further legal peril — not only the president but his minions."

If the impeachment inquiry is “illegal” then charges should be brought unto those responsible.
The Dems can “contest Trump’s Broadside” by VOTING to impeach and have actual Subpoena power...which they won’t do because then republicans have the same power.
What would throw them in further disarray would be to arrest some of the coup plotter committee chairs, particularly Schiff, for sedition, treason and/or collusion with foreign powers.

Exactly. He's calling their bluff saying, in effect, "Put up or shut up".

While an arrest of shfitt would be gratifying, I’d bet it would cause a media caterwauling like we’ve never heard before, and shifting momentum back to them.
OTOH, a series of arrests of deep staters, whistleblowers, and especially intelligence staffers, might put the fear of God into these traitors.
Pelosi should not be involved at all in the impeachment process because of a conflict of interest.
After the president and the vice president, the Speaker of the House is next in line for the presidency.
She has a vested interest in the impeachment and should recuse herself from it.
That is the correct approach.

That does not force Democrats in soft districts to take a vote, and keeps the media circus cranking at full force.
