He was obviously good in math as he was offered a job as a trader. And made his first billion while he was still in 30s.

It is a shame that he had such a degenerate mind. Perhaps he could’ve been someone who made a positive difference in this world instead of being such a sick pervert.

The NYPD has an expression: “to move up, you need a rabbi”. In this case it doesn’t imply being Jewish, it simply means you need someone above you looking out for you and giving you a hand up.

All of Epstein’s progressions were improbable and involved others pulling him along.

And everyone is right, to be hired at Dalton in 1974 without a degree was like - well, like making partner at Bear Stearns 3 years after getting the coffee.

It just doesn’t happen.

So, perhaps Epstein had a “rabbi”.

Once again, humorist Dave Barry has your back:

The best source of reliable information is romance novels, which you can find in better bookstores and supermarkets everywhere. To know the books I mean--the cover always is a picture of a handsome and of course brooding man embracing a woman with green eyes and a bosom that is clearly heaving, sometimes most of the way out of her dress. The title is always something fairly humid, like Loins of Passion.:

"As Sabrina gazed upward at Baron LeGume, whose dark, brooding eyeballs were turgid with passion, she felt tormented tenseness of his throbbing, pulsating malehood, and she knew, with a knowledge borne of knowing, that she could no longer hold back the surging waves of passion that washed over her, like waves of something, as his brooding throbbing pulsating highly engorged lips sought hers, not that she wanted to hold them back..."

It’s the same school that Woody Allen’s character’s teenage lover went to in the universally lauded movie Manhattan.

Too bad Epstein wasn't in some background shots...

He could be the guy ogling the girl.

Maybe Epstein was Woody's wingman back in the day.

I wonder what Vladimir is thinking now.

I agree with your assessment about Barr Sr’s leaving the employment of the school.

As bitter as the ending seemed it would make sense that the school would not want to hire anyone that Barr Sr would have wanted on the school staff.

Usually if someone gets rid of someone they don’t want anyone like them or even possibly like them to be around.

A lot of writers dabbled in that type of writing for a while. It sold copy; not good copy, but it sold.

While I’m still fuming about no one (bad) has been charged yet, my beloved tells me I need to be patient. He says the American public expects all crime stories to be solved in 43 minutes. UGH.

Hi, grumpygresh-!

A lot of writers dabbled in that type of writing for a while. It sold copy; not good copy, but it sold.

Even well known Sci-Fi writers dappled in sex. Often they talked/wrote of open marriages and contract marriages in the future. It was postulated that traditional marriage would have faded as it was not considered a viable form of relationships in the future.

And many, many writers had/have sexual fantasies that they believe are really how things are in this world. They are woefully ignorant of reality and probably (scratch that - most likely, willing) wanting to keep ignorant.

Apparently few people on this thread read Sci-Fi. A lot of Sci-Fi have a slavery thread. And why not. It has only been recently that humans in general have regarded all slavery as bad rather then just bad if it happens to you or people who are like you.

In all likelihood slavery will make a comeback as we spread out into the stars or remain on earth. People like to have people they can order around who have no option but to obey. It is a sad and unpleasant character flaw in some humans.

Yes. I think Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote books in that vein (Mars). I only read Tarzan and some Pellucidar.

In David Webber's "Honorverse" an entire arc is devoted to a company called "Manpower" that deals in genetic slavery.

Heinlein's books often include slavery in the future.

Alan Dean Foster Commonwealth books also have slavery.

I would say it is almost as common a plot line as war.

Sorry about hurting your feelings, but my post was not about you.

Actually, I was embarrassed about the information in the original article I posted with the leftwing disinformation about the timeline. I try not to post leftwing propaganda, but one can't be an authority of all aspects of all subjects, so that's why we have the "Freeperhood." There are lot's of experts on lots of subjects here. And we're always ready to share our knowledge and wisdom with our Freeper family.

As a matter of fact, I should have thanked you for your input on no connection between Barr and Epstein in post #6.

So thank you!

Here is a Daily Beast article that has more information about Epstein's early years than I have been able to find in any other source.

Barr Sr. quit in February of 1974. The article says that Epstein was hired by Dalton in the Fall of that year, but he actually started teaching there over Summer session, which the writer notes in his correction.

The writer says that Barr Sr. might possibly have hired Epstein because he liked "unconventional" teachers, but that could be politically-motivated speculation. He also says that the school had a lot of openings for Math teachers that year.

I suspect that Donald Barr was too preoccupied with his battles with trustees, teachers, students and parents to hire teachers months in advance. And of course, if an unpopular headmaster had made such an unconventional pick, the school probably would have made Epstein feel most unwelcome.

The school was hurting for staff, and at a progressive school like Dalton, Barr couldn't have been the only person who liked "unconventionality." I think it's unlikely that Barr took time out from his battles to hire Epstein, and even unlikelier that they were pals who hung out together.

Perseverance, thank you, for your explanation!

You would never believe how many times I fell for fake information.

It is insane, how the MSM puts out so much garbage.

I truly love this site!

i’d rename your title to include how father and son Barr are both ex-CIA then go deeper to answer all the questions with the deep state connection between all players, the Barrs, Epstein, and Maxwell. Dalton is a deep state campus.
