For several weeks now, The Highway has been playing a song called "No Place" by Backstreet Boys and calling it a country song when it's really not.
Not that there is any lack of decent new country songs to play such as that "Rainbow" song by that girl whose name I can't remember and also "Prayed For You" by Matt Stell as well as "God's Country" by Blake Shelton. I even like that newcomer Gabby Barrett with that song about how she was dumped by her boyfriend and is now wishing that his new girlfriend will cheat on him like he cheated on her. Or something along those lines.
I know there's more important things to be talking about tonight but I figured I'd come here and put up a post in the "Bloggers and Personal" category because, I believe, this is why that category was created. So people can come here and post nonsense and other more serious-minded folk can ignore the "Bloggers & Personal" category altogether and spare themselves from drivel such as this.
But I should be so lucky. I just know some Freepers are going to come over here - to my Blogger and Personal space - and chastise me for putting up a bunch of nonsense about so-called country music. Also, they are going to go on about how country music today does not measure up to the days of George Jones, Merle Haggard and Loretta Lynn. But I listen to that stuff too. I just don't hear it on the Highway, I go over to the Willie's Roadhouse station, which is pretty darn good by the way.
Anyhow, I'm posting the whole thing here so will not have to click through to my blog, where people pay big bucks to hear my opinions on things. I'm giving it up for free here on the Free Republic.
Country music. Not so bad overall. Even the new stuff. But Backstreet Boys? No way. That's not country.
I’m the best.
That Luke Combs album is pretty special. Give it a spin or two.
Yes, that is the one! Not a bad singer. Sort of a modern day Linda Ronstadt.
Sorry I posted the wrong link there. LOL. Honey dont walk out Im too drunk to follow.
I skipped the C&W crap and went to BlueGrass. Ive seen Loretta, Hank, and Johnny Cash. The crap now is horseshitz. You spin it.
I'm interested in exactly what kind of device that is. We had instant hot water heaters in Europe at least since the 1970s, but for some reason, those have never caught on in the US. It is awesome to take a shower and never run out of hot water, even if you are the 3rd... 4th... 5th person in the shower.
By the end of this song I had to lock up the hollow point bullets...
I don’t get it. Country folks are so happy. That’s what we northerners love about visiting their states!
WTH happens when they start writing a song??
lol
Disagree!
Today, a lot of it is about appreciating what you have!!!

Spinning it right now!
New country is basically pop music with a twang anyway.
New country is basically pop music with a twang anyway.
I’m going!
LMAO. Its like clinical depression with fiddles and steel guitars.
All music categories exist ONLY so that retailers know what bin to put the albums in, or how to identify the music so people can buy it.
This Petty one was even better....
