Todays Campaign Update, Part II (Because The Campaign Never Ends)
Say what you will about South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham and lots of things are said about him for sure but he is one powerful hombre in Washington, D.C. today. As the new Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, when Graham talks, people listen, and you can bet Attorney General William Barr was listening when the Senator held a press conference this morning in which he called for the appointment of a new special counsel.
From the Boston Globe:
Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Lindsey Graham on Monday accused the FBI of unprofessional conduct in its initial investigation of potential links between Russian election interference and President Trumps campaign and called for a new probe of its origins.
Now that Robert Muellers investigation is over, Graham said he plans to get answers about how the Russia probe was started and whether it was used as an excuse to spy on Trumps presidential campaign. He urged Attorney General William Barr to appoint a special counsel to examine the issue.
Sen. Graham also said his Committee will conduct its own investigation into the origins of the counterintelligence investigation targeting the Trump Campaign in late 2015, and into the rampant misconduct within the DOJ, FBI and various U.S. intelligence agencies.
For Attorney General Barr, Grahams call for a special counsel investigation presents an inflection point in which he will either demonstrate he is a real AG who is truly intent on doing the job of bringing the real wrong-doers in the nations biggest political scandal to justice, or just another placeholder who, like Jeff Sessions, sees his main job as protecting the interests of the D.C. deep state establishment.
Sessions deflected calls by then-Senate Judiciary Chuck Grassley for a special counsel investigation in late 2017 by implying that Utah U.S. Attorney John Huber was on the case and using his team to look into all the Obama-era deep state shenanigans. But here we sit, 15 months later, and Hubers office has yet to produce a single perp walk or indictment.
If Huber is indeed doing anything related to any of this, now would be the time for Barr to make it public, so that Americans outraged by the anti-American actions within the DOJ/FBI that went on throughout 2016 and 2017 can see that an effort is being made to enforce real justice. If Huber is, as many suspect, just a beard Sessions used to mask his own lack of interest in holding anyone truly accountable, Grahams call for a special counsel offers Barr the chance to differentiate himself from his do-nothing predecessor.
The balls in your court, General Barr. Show us what you got.
That is all.

The thing is, if Trump had really done anything similar to the original charges, he would be completely against any looking into the origins of them. But he’s not....
Taking into account the history of Bush League Republicans is not stupid, what would be stupid would be thinking they can change their spots.
There is no “new” Grahamnesty, he is still a Bush League Republican hell bent on turning the USA into North Mexico.
He clapped like a trained seal on Usurpation Day.
I worry that this is a stall tactic by linda. I believe he is in this up to his neck. He was mccaniacs side kick for years. No way he did not know what mccaniac was doing.
That’s EXACTLY what this is. Running out the clock and throwing some red meat to the Trump supporting GOP base. In the end like the House investigations nothing will come of this because the GOP does not support POTUS and the MAGA agenda.
Graham runs from the topic of criminal charges as fast as he can when he talking to Hannity. Graham is a beltway theater performer. That is all.
And President Trump is going to say bygones be bygones and invite all the Rats to dinner. All is forgiven. We forgive you for this coup. We’ll let you skate this time but pretty please, don’t do it again. And don’t worry about all those Trump supporters who care about the Constitution and rule of law. They’ll just wink and forget it all. And never mind that because we forgive you, we’ve lost the country.
Actions speak. If it was a stall tactic, hed just keep talking about it. Seems like he was just waiting for the Mueller report to be released.
Yes they do. Mueller had perjury traps, indictments and guilty pleas in months. OTOH, we have GOP “investigations” just starting over 2 years after the treasonous Democrat crimes were committed. It’s pretty easy to see how interested the GOP is in prosecuting criminal Democrats. I’ll buy you a clue: not at all.
Huber was asked to answer questions about his “investigation” recently and didn’t show because he had no information to impart. He hasn’t questioned anyone. Huber is a joke just like Sessions.
Huber’s investigation seems to be a fantasy.
Rubio needs to be on the list.
...and it is NOT just a “hoax” (as its being characterized today), it is TREASON.
He is taking on Fedzilla, both parties, the Ministry of Propaganda (which includes all media, news, entertainment, sports) and half the population that has been indoctrinated.
I am grateful he took this on.
He didn’t have to.
We lost the country in 1989 when we elected GHW Bush after Reagan.
That was when the plan to fundamentally transform the country into North Mexico was implemented.
Trump is giving US a last chance.
We have failed to replace traitorous Bush League Republicans and give him some allies in Congress.
I don’t need any clues. I have seen Graham change colors and I don’t trust him, but like at the Kavanaugh hearings, I’ll take a positive action when its offered.
I don’t subscribe to ‘the republic is lost’ philosophy. No doubt we are in a fight for its survival. Conservatives and Americans can take back the Repub party dispute how the elites may resist. The Dem party on the other hand is on the precipice of imploding. I am bullish on 2020. The left would have you think this country is turning socialist. The real silent majority has awoken and wont stand for the insanity of that dangerous 30%.
I believe that there will soon be widespread sentiment for both Congress and the DOJ to drop this whole thing and to “move on”. It’s increasingly clear that the Donks luny fringe has a losing hand compared to Trump,Barr and Graham’s ability to totally expose the coup members including HRC, Lynch and Obama.
Why a special counsel? Waste another two years? No thanks, Linda. There is enough evidence out there now to start indicting the perps.
Timing speaks to planning. Day after, not an accident.
“And President Trump is going to say bygones be bygones and invite all the Rats to dinner. All is forgiven. We forgive you for this coup. Pretty please, dont do it again.”
I don’t know what’s going on in the white house. I’ve seen no indication that PDJT is actually running anything.
The swamp is un-drained and the border is wide open. The two gaping wounds that needed to be addressed ASAP YEARS AGO. Basic triage.
BUT...But...but he has 62,479 sealed indictments.....
“Why a special counsel? Waste another two years? No thanks, Linda. There is enough evidence out there now to start indicting the perps.”
Because there is no one in the DOJ who is not a hillary voter or Trump hater. That’s why.
Trump needs to appoint a special counsel. Period. Not linda’s hand chosen cleaner, bill barr, but President Trump.
Conservatives and Americans can take back the Repub party dispute how the elites may resist. The Dem party on the other hand is on the precipice of imploding.
LOL. Whenever conservatives get close to “taking back the GOP” progressive corportists who control the GOP like Paul Ryan simply throw in with Democrats. The GOP is corrupt at its core and not reformable. Sorry.
The MAGA agenda and the GOP donor class agendas are diametrically opposed. You see that on open borders, etc., where President Trump’s own party undermines his/our agenda. Can you see Democrats behaving like that? Of course not. OTOH, all Democrats are socialists of various flavors and agree on general policy. They won’t be imploding. Sorry.
