On Sunday's MSNBC Live with Alex Witt, after panelist Jennifer Grossman invoked Martin Luther King's historic "content of their character" statement, TV One journalist Roland Martin, in a demanding tone, requested a "favor": "Please don’t quote Dr. King."

Apparently in Martin's world, only a black person like him can quote King, while a white person like Grossman can't. To her credit, Grossman pushed back hard: "I will quote Dr. Martin Luther king every single day and you won’t stop me."

What would MLK think of this? Let me think, what was MLK trying to accomplish? Hmmm, ...

(we all know the answer but let the Progressives keep guessing)

Good everyone needs to pushback on this crap.

blacks and other minorities do not own words or hairstyles or clothing or anything else.

If that is true they need to stop appropriating white culture and let me tell you they arent gonna want to go back to no a/c, grass huts, massive afros and no clothing with zippers or manufactured soles.

Most people have written off the “blacktivists” as beyond redemption; they have given up on assimilation, and are now just paid professional victims.

This dope is getting his wish; fewer and fewer people (of any color) quote Martin Luther King, as his “dream” of a colorblind society is even further away today than it was 50 years ago. Conversation about race is over - and his dream is dead.

Apparently in Martin's world, only a black person like him can quote King, while a white person like Grossman can't.

So if a black lib is quoting someone white and I don't like what he's saying, I can lay exclusive claim to the white guy by virtue of shared pigmentation, and prohibit the black lib from using the quote?

So, ‘people of color’ can play the founding fathers in an overpriced play (Hamilton), but white people can’t credit Martin Luther King?

This is obscene and beyond crazy.

“blacks and other minorities do not own words or hairstyles or clothing or anything else.”

The King family actually does own the sayings of Martin Luther King - at least they claim to. The family copyrighted his work and from time to time I read they try to enforce their claims. Dr. King’s words are available for a fee to the King family.
