Creepy Colorado GOP Voice Message
25 October 2018 | CodeToad

Posted on 10/25/2018 5:24:56 PM PDT by CodeToad

I received this voicemail today in Colorado.

I think the GOP claiming to know who has or hasn't returned a ballot is creepy and inappropriate. No one has the information to say who has or hasn't returned a ballot. So, on top of being creepy, they are also being liars.

I don't like the "Big Brother is watching you" creepy messages.

Voicemail: "Hi this is Lindsey with the Colorado Republican committee. Our record show that you or someone in your household has not yet returned your ballot. Everyone has a voice in this election. Jared polis wants to bring his boulder liberal agenda to all of Colorado by socializing our Health Care increasing our taxes and taking jobs away from Colorado and we need every Republican voter this election. Please return your ballot today. This call was paid for by Colorado Republican Party at 970-329-1690."

“This is not creepy!!”

The voter intimidation Big Brother tactic of saying, “We’re watching you! Now go vote!”, is creepy.

Not before election day they don’t

Oh yes they do. The States routinely sell list of voters to political parties. They are public records and anyone can purchase them. The premium subscription gets parties daily or online access to the name, address, party affiliation, phone number, and current ballot status

No, they don't know how you voted, but they do know if and when you turned in an absentee or early ballot.

Turn in an early ballot and watch how fast the political phone calls and mailers stop coming.

Parties track this stuff very closely.

If Colorado is anything like Texas, a list of those who voted is posted every day after the polls close. It would be easy to remove those names from the list of registered voters and make those calls.

I used to live in Port Orange.

Republican robocalls in Colorado can get pretty obnoxious. I remember the day I unplugged my land line for good. It was after several days of it ringing off the hook with such calls.

Back when I was involved with the local Republican party, they ran an aggressive phone bank. Public reaction was strongly negative. I remember once when I was manning the desk at Republican HQ, I took a phone message from a storekeeper who was furious about the Party bombarding his business phone. After the election was over, they decided that the level of pestering needed to be turned down in the next election.

“I suppose there are Republican Snowflakes.”

Unfortunately, I suspect there are. I wouldn’t appreciate a call that came across as scolding, but there’s zero way it would affect my intention to vote.

I have gotten text messages saying I haven’t turned in my ballot yet. They know. I take my ballot with me to vote. Turn it in and vote on the machine. I get the absentee ballot for insurance in case of unforeseen emergency.

They know when you do. You’ll keep on getting robocalls with increased frequency until you turn in your ballot.

“I’m a local volunteer. They sent me a contact list of republicans who put in for an absentee ballot, but it hasn’t been returned yet.”

Colorado mails EVERY registered voter a mail-in ballot. there are no “absentee ballots” in this state:

Here your ballot return is a public record. The act of voting is done in public. HOW you voted is secret. Rules could vary obviously from state to state.

“They don’t have access to know who has returned their ballots.”

“No, sir. Your ballot return is NOT public record until after the election.”

I agree.

The call should have simply been a reminder to mail in your ballot.

Some people need to be more motivated some don’t! But the Republican party is just saying to everyone get off the couch and go vote! I bet they did that to everyone with a ballot!

Maybe someone should call the Colorado Republican committee & ask for Lindsey. If there’s no one there by that name, call the other party.
