Obama's Benghazi Body Bags No Mere Conspiracy Theory

The arrogance of the man who lied to the parents of the Benghazi dead in front of their sons’ caskets as they were returned to the country they fought for is mind-boggling. As he attempted to rewrite many chapters of his failed presidency in a speech at the University of Illinois, he called the accurate and documented reports of the criminal negligence of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and himself during the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack on our Benghazi compound a mere “conspiracy theory.”

Conspiracy theories don’t produce body bags, sir, but perhaps you don’t remember that night all too well because you spent the time four brave Americans were being killed under your command in Libya resting up for a Las Vegas fund raiser. Kris Paronto, former Army Ranger and CIA contractor who fought with his colleagues on the roof of the CIA annex in Benghazi remembers that night and tweeted his response to your arrogant and dismissive ridicule of their sacrifice and your incompetence:

Obama and Hillary had plenty of warnings that the security at Benghazi was woefully inadequate, that the compound was swimming in an ocean of terrorist training camps. They ignored these warnings and when the attack happened and did nothing when a rescue mission could have been mounted. Instead stand-down orders were given to would-be rescuers and following the attack the infamous video lie was concocted and spread over the air waves with President Obama repeating it no less than 6 times in a speech before the United Nations:

On the night Benghazi burned and four Americans died, forces ready to deploy were told to stand down and our secretary of state cut out of the loop her department's counter-terrorism bureau….

"I thought it was a terrorist attack from the get-go," says (Gregory) Hicks, the U.S. deputy chief of mission in Libya on that fateful night….

Hicks was dumbfounded when the State Department quickly blamed a YouTube video about the Muslim prophet Mohammed for precipitating the attack and why no one called him to find out the truth before sending out Ambassador Susan Rice on five Sunday talk shows.

"I reported an attack on the consulate," Hicks says in transcripts released by Issa's committee. "It's jaw dropping to me how that came to be. ... I was personally known to one of Ambassador Rice's staff members. And, you know, we're six hours ahead of Washington. Even on Sunday morning I could have been called."

Hicks, the last man to speak to Ambassador Chris Stevens, has exposed the video lie, documented how he told Hillary’s State Department what was happening in real time that fateful night, and how her State Department ignored warnings from Chris Stevens and others about the gathering terrorist storm and the woeful lack of security.

Now retired, private citizen Hicks goes farther, telling Fox News Hillary Clinton broke laws while condemning four Americans to death at the hands of terrorists:

Just as the Constitution makes national security the President’s highest priority, U.S. law mandates the secretary of state to develop and implement policies and programs "to provide for the security … of all United States personnel on official duty abroad.”

This includes not only the State Department employees, but also the CIA officers in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. And the Benghazi record is clear: Secretary Clinton failed to provide adequate security for U.S. government personnel assigned to Benghazi and Tripoli.

The Benghazi Committee’s report graphically illustrates the magnitude of her failure. It states that during August 2012, the State Department reduced the number of U.S. security personnel assigned to the Embassy in Tripoli from 34 (1.5 security officers per diplomat) to 6 (1 security officer per 4.5 diplomats), despite a rapidly deteriorating security situation in both Tripoli and Benghazi. Thus, according to the Report, “there were no surplus security agents” to travel to Benghazi with Amb. Stevens “without leaving the Embassy in Tripoli at severe risk.”

Had Ambassador Stevens’ July 2012 request for 13 additional American security personnel (either military or State Department) been approved rather than rejected by Clinton appointee Under Secretary of State for Management Pat Kennedy, they would have traveled to Benghazi with the ambassador, and the Sept. 11 attack might have been thwarted.

Patricia Smith, mother of Sean Smith who fought and died for his country at Benghazi spoke of Hillary’s callousness at the 2012 GOP convention. Hillary’s callous disregard for the families of the Benghazi dead that Patricia Smith focused on in her riveting convention speech:

Panetta: Obama Absent Night of Benghazi February 7, 2013 By Daniel Halper

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta testified this morning on Capitol Hill that President Barack Obama was absent the night four Americans were murdered in Benghazi on September 11, 2012:

Panetta said, though he did meet with Obama at a 5 o'clock prescheduled gathering, the president left operational details, including knowledge of what resources were available to help the Americans under siege, "up to us."

In fact, Panetta says that the night of 9/11, he did not communicate with a single person at the White House. The attack resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Obama did not call or communicate in anyway with the defense secretary that night. There were no calls about what was going on in Benghazi. He never called to check-in.

My rhetorical question then as now: What was it that they were trying to hide?

I’m totally mystified as to why Obama ventured into the territory of Benghazi in his speech. Was the burning need for him to rewrite history in a manner that attempts to give cover and exonerate the decisions of his administration really worth poking a sleeping dog squarely in the eye? Or does he just watch supporting sycophantic media like CNN thinking that if they can get away with telling lies all day long, he has all the cover he needs. Well… Benghazi does have a lot of unanswered questions about that do fuel conspiratorial thinking but these are ones that go right back to the Obama administration. What made them think that the paltry security measures they had were just fine? For that matter, what was Stevens all doing there? And why did they not answer the call for help when it was first raised?

Obama’s counterfeit birth certificate, which he also referred to in that speech; is no conspiracy theory either. It is a matter of fact attested to by two reputable forensic document examinations on two different continents.

To simply ask the obvious questions about this risks incurring the wrath of all those who do not want this issue examined appropriately. It remains our contemporary equivalent of a Victorian era unmentionable.
