These are all Cheap Labor Express/Warmonger propagandists, not conservatives.

Thank you for posting this but may I make a mild suggestion? Please remove those extraneous hyperlinks prior to completing the post, all they do is add confusion and space.

As for the actual content, it is what many of us already sadly recognize, history along with the rest of the ‘liberal arts’ has become monochromatic and totally dominated by the LEFT. Academia swims in the sea of LEFTism and fails to see anything good in conservatism. It is especially dangerous with history as that is the perspective that is used to measure against ‘current events’.

Where I take major umbrage with this author is his apparent sentiment that Conservatives should just sit back and take it and not lower the level of discourse.

Well, we have been doing that for decades against a Left that has not only shown zero restraint on its side, but has harnessed the power of a willing and compliant Leftist media and actually IMPLEMENTED this discourse into its party platform as strategy. And look where it got us.

We have been running a rear-guard action for decades until we were finally painted into a corner by the “civility” crap.

To the Left, “civility” is a one way ratchet for them, and we are somehow terrible for fighting back.

I am all for the “incivility” if that is what people like this author wish to call it, and he can just step out of they way. I don’t care what he says, as long has he doesn’t take sides with the Left or aid their cause, which he is doing in the article.

Fighting back against deception, mischaracterization, character assassination, and outright defamatory and bold-faced lies is not incivility, though the author apparently views it as such.

the serious work of intellectual conservatism at that time came from thinkers who had little to do with the emerging political-media entertainment complex on the right—people like Christopher Lasch, Roger Scruton, Abigail and Stephan Thernstrom, Eugene Genovese, Charles Murray, Thomas Sowell, Shelby Steele and Robert Hughes, to name a few.

Christopher Lasch's books were deeply foresightful, predicting the Me-centered problems of today some 30 or more years ago. The list could also have included the foreign policy "realist school" scholar Samuel Huntington, who a decade before 9/11 accurately predicted the "Clash of Civilizations" (his book by that title) that we are undergoing between islam, the secular West, radical marxism, communism and Christianity. These asymmetrical wars are neither constrained by national borders nor are they being fought conventionally. And although he was more of an entertainer than scholar, the journalist/novelist Tom Wolfe was deeply insurrectionist in the salons of New York City.

I might also mention Robert Bork's 1996 sociolegal criticism of the decline of American society, Souching towards Gomorrah. Much of his many books dealt with the ramifications upon the greater society of the radicalization of jurisprudence and the law schools from the 60s onward.

The growing tendency of late for liberals and conservatives to regard each other as not just opponents, but enemies . . .

They want me disarmed and enslaved. They want to take what I have produced and saved and give it to those to lazy to work as hard as I worked. They claim I "didn't build that", when in fact I worked more 14-hour days than any parasite on the left can imagine to build my business. They call me a "racist" when I judge people by the content of their character rather than exclusively by the color of their skin, or when I support the rule of law and include immigration law in that concept.

They want to overturn a free and fair election simply because the American people rejected socialism when they felt entitled to win, and they are willing to accomplish that coup "by any means necessary". They want to exercise their freedom of speech by showing disrespect toward our flag, our anthem, our military, our country, and our ancestors. They have that right, but then they demand that I celebrate their shocking rudeness rather than ignore them and those who tolerate their antics - and again they call me "racist" for refusing to watch events that showcase their disgusting conduct.

Of course they are my enemies. I am an American.
