The comparisons are not surprising.

This sums up his oped:

Everything the liberal, leftist, Democrat’s say/do is a reflection of themselves especially as they accuse others. The liberal, leftist, Democrat will always identify themselves via projection. They are perhaps the most frightening of life forms as they lie, and project their sick persona on to the rest of the World.

The chair of Hillary Clinton’s campaign, John Podesta, an obsessive UFO buff, appeared on an episode of Ancient Aliens which claimed that Hillary Clinton was defeated to suppress the truth about space aliens.

Well, I know that's why I voted against her. I'm sure others had other reasons, though.

Hooboy. Talking to my liberal friends is like entering another world, a world of fantasy, a world of wonder, a world of Russian spies under every bed stealing our precious bodily fluids (remember when the libs used to laugh at us for that sort of thing?) - a world where CNN and MSNBC and NPR will bring you the truth the bug-eyed monsters, including the ones in government, don't want them to hear. Greenfield agrees:

And I hate to break it to them, but we already have a government task force all over such facilities as Area 51. It's called the Air Force. Nor is the conviction that we've been invaded localized in the perfervid brain of Stumbles McMyTurn, as Kurt Schlichter memorably named her. 0bama made great mention of how he was going to get to the bottom of it when he entered office in 2009. And then silence. Presumably They got to him too.

But Greenfield is correct (even if he diddles a little with the precise terms of the questions) - fundamental to the current progressive wing of the Democrat party is the cult-like belief that America is a myth, a lie, that it was never great, and that even tearing it down without rebuilding it would constitute human Progress because it would no longer be in a position to oppress whoever the victim of the moment turns out to be. They really believe this, and the belief is reinforced every time they take their daily IV feed from NPR, CNN, etc. Don't expect to reason with cultists.
