Other than the ‘third place’ business, I liked the employee’s tone in dealing with an offensive person.

I can proudly say I’ve never paid for a cup of Starbucks coffee.
A friend bought me one once.... worst drek I’ve ever tasted.
Starbucks is a nonentity to me.

I’m retired——and say that it is my Second Place and accuse them of age discrimination.

Nope. My wife is. I refused to drink coffee when we were in Seattle.
Here’s the part that annoyed me. I was looking at the prices while my wife and daughter were ordering and noticed a lousy cup of iced coffee was ten bucks. Then my wife comes over to me after paying and I asked if she got a receipt (used a credit card). She said no. I asked how much it was. She said she didn’t know. Grrrrr!
But I’m not really angry with her. It was a one time thing. Interestingly, my daughter ordered that ten dollar coffee. It was crap (she gave me a sip). I mean, it was like someone took a cup of regular Keurig coffee, poured it over ice, and done.
My wife and I have not darkened the doorway of a starbucks for the last few years except for that. I even got my company to stop including Starbucks in their choices for our Keurig at work.
Well, I don’t know about anyone else but I find it refreshing that a business doesn’t tolerate the kind of language that is too common everywhere today - including here at FR..
