Like myself, I think Melania has really sensitive eyes, so the hat does what her regular sunglasses usually do, but wouldn’t be kosher at certain times.

Looks like a return to shoulder pads, also. I kind of liked those back in the 80s, although they bunched up in the laundry.
Very classy. I wish people (including men) cared more about their appearance. Hat’s (and I’m not talking about ball caps) are an easy way to bump your overall level of dress. I can remember my grandfather who never left the house w/o a coat, tie and hat.
I remember a quote from some old t.v. show: "Why are the most kissable women always under the most unapproachable hats?"
My granddaughter has sensitive eyes. Sunglasses or hat.

I love her suit but the hat should have been smaller, framed closed to her head. She has beautiful hair and facial features- the hat just is way too wide.
But even so she looks stunning!!!
