“Cute” paper straws dissolve in milk and just are horrible. Ugh.

Yep. You cant even get a good plastic straw these days. I know I’ve tried for months. Settled on a 50 pack of thick plastic re-usable ones that came with 2 scrub brushes.

Everyone that comes to my house wants a glass of tea with my new colorful swirly striped straws.

FYI- I also purchased 6 of the Stainless steel straws that work great, except, they do not give, AT ALL. So be careful when you first go to drink. If you bump your front teeth with a plastic straw, the plasticity absorbs the impact and you dont even realize you bump your teeth on the straw until you try one made out of steel. They dont give a micron when you bump them, plus they are metal and make all your fillings ‘sing’ upon impact.

Friggen straws......

the old fashioned wooden ones can be a vector for TB when reused even if cleaned. China had/has a big issue with this due to reuse of wooden chopsticks in some restraunts.

I vaguely recall a similar effort a dozen years or so ago regarding milk containers. The Libs were trying to get the plastic jugs replaced because those jugs were EEEEVIIILLLLLL. Soon, the ole paper/wax coated containers reappeared.

However, stores still sell most of their milk in plastic jugs.

But, with Libs, milk is also EEEVVVVIIIIILLLLLL from the cow to the glass and everything inbetween.

I’m drinking out of a clear “plastic” cup made from corn and it is 100% compostable. Make straws out of that. Next problem?
