The incumbent Ted Cruz has a strong challenger in Beto O'Rourke for the coveted Lone Star State Senate seat in November's General Election.
Ted cruised to victory while Beto roared and showed he's ready for a showdown. Texas Republican U.S.Senate incumbent Ted Cruz will face Democrat challenger Beto O'Rourke after both won their respective party's primary ballot Tuesday night.
The headliner on the Texas ballot was the race for the United States Senate seat held by incumbent Ted Cruz, the junior senator winding down his first term. Cruz had four opponents in the Republican Primary.
Cruz had more than 80 percent of the popular vote while O'Rourke garnered about 60 percent.

Cut Cruz slack. He’s been pushing Trump’s agenda more than most of the feckless Senate.

Agree. He and Trump were bitter rivals in the 2016 primary, but seem to have gotten past it for the sake of MAGA.

Are you kidding, not only did Ted Cruz totally wipe out this guy Beto O’Rourke politically by a 400,000 to 500,000 vote victory margin, but, the entire Democrat slate of Candidates took a political whipping, across the board.
Folks...the truth be known, the great state of Texas is as “Trump Red” as it ever can be. Texas goes Republican massively, come November, 2018. Folks, check out the entire Texas primary voting results in the NY Times and you will witness a “Wendy Davis Flop” once again. Trump owns Texas.......PERIOD. Case closed.
Hahaha! There were all these ‘gonna be a blue wave’ stories just before election results came in.

Ted Cruz has his warts, but he’s one of the best in the Senate for defending our Constitution and our rights. I’m glad he’s there.
Ted would be covered by President Trump’s DACA deal ;-) Anyway, Ted go twice as many votes as all the Democrats together. The General will be a cake walk.
And besides, we sure as HELL don’t want “Beto” “representing” us in the Senate! Pah!
I thought for the first six months they were best friends. Then Cruz became the most evil person in the world.

happened to us.
For a state of 24,000,000, there wasn’t that great of a turn-out for anyone. Texas is a minority-majority state but the real target date for the Dems is more like 2024.
We are in for a brutal mid-term election. Remember the Alabamity Calamity. We should not have lost that election. I’m not talking about Texas specifically, just the election generally. We have to remain highly motivated, disciplined and focused. We need to have our talking points down cold. I’m quite sure that this fight is going to be disgusting.
