The swamp will be there long after President Trump is gone. An outsider will never again have the nomination of either Party.

Yes, Donald Trump's ability to secure the Republican nomination, along with Bernie Sanders getting close to taking the Democrat nomination, makes an establishment argument for more super-delegates, not less.

That doesn't mean it will impossible for an outsider to win a major party nomination, just harder to accomplish. Of course, if the parties act like French generals 100 years ago, it means a new method of action, if the parties only try to avoid the last election cycle.

My take away is Everytime the quisling Republicrats fail to support a Republican candidate we assure fail. The Republicrats made a Democratic control of the Senate a much more likely thing in 2018.

I don’t dislike Bannon but I do think he’s been wildly overrated.

Moore’s loss had little do to with Bannon, and a lot to do with the allegations against Moore. Absent those allegations, Moore would have won handily. As it is, he only lost by about 1.5%.

MOTUS is wrong. Trump himself said the swamp would be drained quickly. He repeated this all along the campaign trail.

It's a long uphill battle for the Democrats, but the Republicans need to get their act together and stop shooting inwards.

The person to attack in this is McConnell.

Lets not forget that a big reason that Moore lost was the WA Post hit piece that was taken up by the national media and the money that “issue” raised nationally by Democrats that funneled into the local election.

An other factor was the national Republican party abandonment of Moore, calls that he would not be seated and a write in campaign for someone else.

This was in no way a typical election unless every future Republican candidate is going to be “slimed” by the national press.

The way the media presented it, it was a touch choice: A Democrat or a child molester... However, the Democrat won.

But I blame Steve Bannon. He picked the only Republican in the State of Alabama who could not beat the Democrat. Luther Strange would have crushed him.

This idea that it was McConnell’s fault is idiocy. For his next act, Bannon wants to replace McConnell with a Democrat. I question who’s side he’s on.

What is it with you and word “whore”? You’re all over those women-hating threads that are so popular now on FR. Clean up your language, jerk.

It's very difficult when candidates like Roy Moore have the rug pulled out from under them by the Republican establishment.

Only a concerted effort by the establishment to smear and pile-on Moore, orchestrate a write-in campaign and cut off all funding to him resulted in his loss.

There is no chance Moore would have lost if not for establishment Republicans joining in the smear job against him.

If it could happen to Moore, it could happen to anyone the establishment doesn't like. It did happen to Chris McDaniel four years ago.

Part of the problem has been defectors from the left who are now e-celebs on social media, creating this idea that “trumpism” exists...
Trump exists.
We voted for Trump, not your nihilistic version of throwing everything out with the bathwater.
Trumpism doesn’t necessarily register or work on a local or statewide race... culture does.

It was the spending. 10 to 1. Only a Trump can overcome that. Strange may have also lost. That would have been devastating. Moore made it close.

Trump is not firing anyone or arresting anyone.
I do not know why. It has been nearly a year.
I would have drained the swamp the 1st week.
