White House spokeswoman: Having kids prepared me for dealing with reporters
The Hill ^ | 6 Sept 2017

Posted on 09/07/2017 6:04:21 AM PDT by Thistooshallpass9

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Wednesday that raising her children has helped prepare her for dealing with journalists.

"They perfectly prepared me to deal with the White House press corps," she said on ABC's "The View." "I get to answer the same question all day long, and I've gotten pretty good at saying 'no.' So, I think my kids have been a perfect foundation for my job."

In July, Sanders, who previously served as President Trump's deputy press secretary, became the first mother to hold the position after former press secretary Sean Spicer resigned.

She has three children — a five-year-old, a three-year-old and a two-year-old.

Sanders said Wednesday that, because her children keep her awake "24/7," she's constantly poised to respond to reporters' questions at any time of day.

"I'm already up. As a parent, you're up 24/7 a day," she said. "So it's an easy transition."

She’s great. I know Spicer had fans here but I think she’s much better. Calm and quiet and unflappable.

Changing diapers would certainly be good preparation, reporters being equally full of $***.

Even the most demanding and unruly kids behave better than the so-called WH “journalists” who throw childish tantrums everyday.

That experience changing diapers would also be very helpful dealing with politicians, for the same reason.

She needs to put them all in “time out” for the next 7 years.

Answering a question by saying, “We are formulating a plan and we’ll get back with you Tuesday” 18 times is like dealing with a kid in a car continually saying, “Are we there yet? Are we there yet?.”

Her answer demonstrates that she has the sense of humor that it must take to deal with the rabid press corps.

Exactly, I can't remember a better Press Secretary, altho I did think Mike McCurry was fantastic, even if I didn't agree with that regime's stands.

“She has three children — a five-year-old, a three-year-old and a two-year-old.”

Add ten years to the ages of her kids, and with two teens and a teener at home, she will be well equipped to handle the WH reporters, who are forever teens.

Guaranteed her 5, 3 and 2 year old ask more relevant and insightful questions than the msm. She needs to send more than one reporter to time out.
