Off the beaches of Marco Island, you can pick up multi-colored seashells. Be careful with the sand dollars as they are quite thin and fragile and break easily when mixed with the other shells. This time of year, thunderstorms and heavy showers are constantly moving in off the Gulf.

I spent a warm , bright and breezy afternoon at the beach by Patrick AFB, FL in December of 2007 and the red tide only made my eyes itch a little bit and also gave me a slightly scratchy throat. No big deal.
