Marines release commercial focusing on a woman in combat (VIDEO)

A new TV ad from the U.S. Marine Corps focuses on a woman in combat, the first commercial of its kind for the military branch.

The woman starring in the new spot, Marine Capt. Erin Demchko, has served in Afghanistan and was a logistics officer on a Female Engagement Team, according to the Marine Corps website.

“FETs build trust with local civilians to gather information and improve relations with the community,” says the website. “Capt. Demchko worked side by side with her fellow Marines to complete missions in the region.”

The ad follows a young girl who stands up to bullies at school, plays rugby as a young woman, and ends up becoming a Marine — training in an obstacle course and engaging in a firefight. Demchko says the scene in the obstacle course was no easy task.

“The water was 27 degrees and coated with a layer of thick ice,” she told the Associated Press. “Giving the film production staff what they wanted, while maintaining my bearing as a Marine officer and trying not to look cold, was a challenge.”

The commercial comes just two months after allegations that hundreds of Marines distributed nude images of female colleagues on social media.

“The Marine Corps is deeply concerned about allegations regarding the derogatory online comments and sharing of salacious photographs in a closed website,” reads a document outlining the allegations. “This behavior destroys morale, erodes trust, and degrades the individual.”

For “the few” and “the proud,” there are even fewer female Marines. Of about 183,000 Marines, only about 8 percent are women. But the Corps wants more.

For Demchko, the Marine Corps has helped her better herself, as she pursues a master’s degree in modeling and virtual environment simulation — technical skills that will continue to help her lead.

“The fighting spirit is something that’s inside all of us,” Demchko said. “Everybody’s got a goal, if it’s personal or if it’s something bigger, that you are fighting toward.”

OK, women have served valiantly in the Military for years in many capacities.

That said, as a former Army Combat Arms Soldier, (Field Artillery), I know there is no way women can function equally with men in that physically demanding environment.

The standards have been lowered and I hope Sec. of Defense, (Retired Marine General), Mattis gets this fixed pronto.

Oldest boy is a Marine in a combat unit, and he and the others he said are totally opposed to having women with them. Not only do they bot do the same fitness tests in boot camp at Parris Island, they also do to have the same fitness tests to get into the Marine Corps.
]On top of that how many men now will be charged for sexual harassment, rape, when they did nothing. How much of the unit cohesiveness will break down once the drama comes along into the unit?

General Neller has a lot to answer for, as he was giving a speech not long ago praising women to be in a combat unit , and this was right after some females were drunk got topless, and the men posted those photo;s on the website.

Political correctness will get a lot of people killed.

Not yet, because the Empire is stable and enemies can be controlled or paid off, but it will come.

This started in the 80's with co-ed basic training at Ft. Sill, OK.

An old Army buddy was a Drill Sergeant there and it was an absolute travesty; when 18 year old men and women live in the same environment, nothing but trouble and hormones take over.

To be politically correct is to be delusional. When such people achieve positions of power, real people suffer horribly.

You're right, muslims don't hold women in any high regards.

A very deep swamp to drain, indeed.

Exactly. I am a retired Army Officer in the “other artillery,” Air Defense Artillery, and you are right on target with your comments. I wonder if the Marine Corps will next do a commercial of a female being captured and the results of that? I’m not holding my breath.

Any woman that goes into combat thinking if she gets captured by Muslim warriors they will treat her according to the rules of the Geneva Convention is delusional.

I served 21 years in the military, active and reserve, enlisted and officer, combat arms and combat support. Women should not be in the military except for medical and admin positions. We should have never allowed them into the service academies.

Women are physically inferior to men. They also react differently to situations than men. Unit cohesion, created by male bonding (locker room talk etc.), is destroyed by a women’s presence (and gays for that matter).

I will be for women in the military when I see women playing for the NFL, NBA, and MLB.

Yeah. Whatta laugh.

The 6’8” Taliban fighter is going to see the cute Ukrainian girl from Michigan running at him and laugh his butt off. This is the best the Americans can put up against him?

She gets close enough for hand to hand combat and he’s got a new trophy for the yurt.

I read an article that DOD will do away with the motto “Every Marine a rifleman”. I think overall the best way to keep up with the rot destroying our military is to look at U.S. Defense Watch. Here is the essay I am going to send to the president and Secretary of Defense every year now as we keep descending into this pit. Papers will get a shortened version.

The Tragedy of Women in Combat

Ash Carter’s announcement December of 2015 about women in combat demonstrated the Obama Administration attachment to a political ideology fueled by arrogance and premeditated ignorance. Carter’s supposed direction of any long period of study and vigorous debate sought only those mutually supportive creatures that have metastasized throughout the military to serve a social agenda bringing future needless devastation.

Most of the points I highlight about women in combat arose first when the decision was made to do away with DADT, and invite the LGBT community into the mainstream of military operations. In the case of DADT, the religious fervor driving a delusional Congress and Administration sought comfort from a fallacious study conclusion showing purport for their decision, when in the fact trigger pullers at the core of military operations rejected the idea.

Neither decision is compatible with combat operations that too often demand unpredictable and unimaginable endurance and brutality to achieve victory. Only the highest physical abilities and most severe restrictions on human behaviors and interactions can foster the required high morale, good order and discipline, and unit cohesion required. Resorting to war for national defense entails the ultimate Olympics of conflict occurring at the bleeding edge of existence where the unbelievable must become the possible.

Human sexuality, and therefore LGBT behavior and women, simply cannot intrude into this sub-culture where only those displaying the greatest savagely can hope to win. Particularly regarding women, national defense compels the highest in physical achievement where no excuse exists for merging men and women into war environments more severe than any found in the Olympic competitions every four years.

Combat forms personnel into rigid, task oriented units. They then descend into a squalid cacophony of shrieking, cursing, sobbing, crashing dissonance to orchestrate the killing of other humans without hate or joy. These people continuously face extraordinary mental and physical stress, and survive by acquiring the wisdom of wild animals that live in the moment without schedules for eating and sleeping. At the point of collision, they undertake operations requiring sacrificial, primitive, and intimate actions. They must display a noble fidelity to each other despite environments that are inherently chaotic, barbaric, and brittle. Overcoming this alternate reality requires trained killers subject to a totalitarian leadership and narrow focus unimaginable for those who see any opportunity for the social alchemy popular in civilian life.

The regimental combat teams for infantry, mechanized, and armored units are now the playthings of bureaucrats committed to equal opportunity and affirmative action. They are dismissive of warriors enduring the carnage imperative for triumph. Institutional memories no longer exist for fighting ferocious, shrewd enemies such as the Germans, Japanese, Chinese, and North Vietnamese, who utilized a full array of modern weapons. If one notes the ribbons on any senior officer’s uniform, they show they fought only Arabs the Israelis beat three times at 20 to 1 odds.

Such people now question the necessity for standards which do not obfuscate inferior female physical performance or the psychological degradation of units forced to incorporate LGBT and feminist agendas. Social engineering that amalgamates these agendas has become the overarching imperative to which all operational capabilities must submit.

Women can serve in many rolls, but do not belong at the pointy end of the spear, and should not be holding it to the extent they intrude into the fellowship of combat arms, which depends upon savagery and physical strength for victory. LGBT behaviors simply have no place in our military where sexual extravagance breaks down unit cohesion. As this tragedy unfolds I will remember the quote that, “Men sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf”.

A lot of good men are going to have to die in years to come to cover up the abandonment of the military as the ultimate meritocracy. This tragedy of women in combat following endorsement of LGBT behaviors provides another reason I now always council men to never enter the armed forces

Notice from the ribbons on his uniform that General Dempsey, never fought the enemies mentioned, and now questions the necessity of current high standards which already allow inferior female performance?

Be sure to check out the photo of Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus. He looks to me like someone who should be holding personnel seminars at Health and Human Services. I would not want to have anything to do with the gooey product resulting from the fulfillment of his vision. I think it is time to retire the service dress blues for a mauve uniform with a pink stripe and fashionable French berets. Considering the defense secretary claimed a long period of study and vigorous debate, I maintain discussion was among those mutually supportive creatures that have metastasized throughout the military to serve the LGBT and feminist social agendas. Most of the points I highlight below about women in combat first arose when the decision was imposed to do away with DADT. A lot of good men are going to have to die in years to come to cover up this needless disaster.
