The Master Persuader Scrambles the Frame: #Trump #WhenHub
Scott Admas Blog / Dilbert ^ | January 11, 2017 | Scott Adams

What was Trump’s biggest persuasion problem in the election?

Answer: His opponents did a great job of framing him as some kind of Hitler. Do a Google search on Trump and Hitler and you get an avalanche of comparisons.

It was sticky persuasion, and it still hangs over the country like a chorus of stale farts. I’ve said before that half the country believe they are living in 1930s Germany and the other half think we got a better economy and some free entertainment. Those are two completely different movies running on the same screen at the same time. So how does the Master Persuader deal with the second-largest case of national cognitive dissonance in our history? (Slavery was first.)

Ignoring the Hitler branding from the other side won’t work. It’s too sticky.

Denying the Hitler branding won’t work either. That would just make people debate the details and harden the association by reputation. In the 3rd dimension, where persuasion matters and facts do not, brains recognize “Bob is totally NOT like Hitler” as “Somehow Bob and Hitler are connected.” So denying doesn’t work. Not even a little.

What’s left? You can’t ignore it and you can’t deny it. There’s no solution, right?

Well, there’s no solution if you operate in the 2nd dimension. That dimension is out of ammo. But the 3rd dimension is not. A Master Persuader neither ignores nor denies.

He plays offense and scrambles their frame.

But he had to wait for the right time and the right opportunity. That opportunity came to him in the form of an intelligence meeting leak and some fake news. Here’s how the Master Persuader played it:

Trump Tweeted:

Intelligence agencies should never have allowed this fake news to “leak” into the public. One last shot at me.Are we living in Nazi Germany? — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 11, 2017

How do I know this was calculated and not just a Godwin’s Law universal reference to Hitler? Because he played it exactly the way I would have done it. And I have a similar skill set in persuasion. This was the only play that can work. It won’t solve for the Hitler branding the other side put on him, but it’s a start.

Update: Now this…

President-elect Trump calls for an apology on the Russia report: “That’s something that Nazi Germany would’ve done and did to.” pic.twitter.com/qYi4m4G7st — Fox News (@FoxNews) January 11, 2017

Trump plays offense and scrambles their frame! Indeed he does.

The MSM tries to do this with every reference and by every title they write to associate Trump and all Conservatives with extreme negatives.

Unfortunately, it works for the most part and the internet magnifies the problem thru word search engines.

We don’t miss the “old gotcha” press conferences with the whining and lying liberals attacking our president. Mediots lying and telling us what to believe and how to vote!

Official Washington is being traumatized by the tweets of Donald Trump.

Politico has chronicled the pearl clutching concern by the inside the beltway types over Trump's tweets. It seems Trump speaking directly to the people via Twitter is causing a crisis among politicians and lobbyists, who just don't know how to handle it as reflected in the article title, Trump’s Twitter feed traumatizes Washington.

Every male they aim to destroy = Hitler; Female can be played as Hitler’s wife. I kid you not.

They have already started it with a USA Today article 1/2/17 where the headline states M’s dress designer will not compare M to Hitler’s wife.

I’m shocked I haven’t seen a Clinton News Nazis meme developed at The Donald on Reddit as of yet.

CLINTON NEWS NAZI’S- that has a nice ring to it. You should write an article with that headline. It would be quite popular here.

I would contend that there is an analogy to be drawn between now and Germany 1933. However, the difference is that in this present time, we HAD a dictator rise to power, but in the end he was REMOVED. The Left is seriously ignorant of the rise of Nazi Germany. They have yet to even come close to getting it right.

mmmmmm....... I am not persuaded that Scott Adams is as great as Scott Adams says Scott Adams is.
“Because he played it exactly the way I would have done it. And I have a similar skill set in persuasion.”
This is like the the guy on Monday telling you how he knew in advance how the football game was going to turnaround when it looked like whatever team was losing had no chance. But they then scored 3 touchdowns in the last 5 minutes.
I was an early-Trumper and expect great things. But S Adams is really full of himself to say he is on the same level as Trump. And then walk us through after the fact about what worked and why.
If Scott Adams is THAT brilliant, Trump would have met with him for a Cabinet or other high level position.
.
Your thoughts on this?

Honestly, I vaguely know much about Scott Adams and had never seen his blog until today. He was referred from some other FR topic.

The KKK, Nazism, Hitler, that’s all they got. But I do know this for a fact. Read post #4. The enemy studies and forms negative word associations every time they write or utter a word. They paint a mental picture of the worst.

If thousands of us were to begin to writing articles with titles like:

‘Hillary dumps Bill at an Arkansas Bus Stop’ or “Kim Jong Un donates to the CGI” the story would begin to pop until the censors would step in to sanitize the web.

The republicans and conservatives and especially the Trump’s have no natural sanitation system to depollute the news. We are always under attack.

They write the headlines that rarely fit the facts.

If Trump brings back American 10,000 jobs from Mexico to Maine.

The title shall read: Trump Steals Mexican jobs from the poorest to give to rich pals in Maine.

And Google and other types likely run programs that project or copy searches with 2-3 key words so their preferred results appear on a search. It’s an uphill battle that we should be fighting more aggressively.
