In a February 2010 speech, then-Gov. Jennifer Granholm described how Michigan was becoming a center for advanced battery production, which would diversify the state’s economy.

Granholm characterized the state as “becoming a world capital for advanced batteries,” and boasted that the industry was “projected to create almost 62,000 new jobs" in the state.

"We have a whole industry sprouting up all over the state with respect to the battery," Granholm said in 2010.

As of 2015, Michigan had 918 battery manufacturing jobs, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. That's even after billions of dollars granted to this industry by state and federal lawmakers. In contrast, there were 4.6 million Michigan jobs as of June 2016.

Grants are nice, you don't have to pay them back.

Grants are a bonanza for fraudsters who can siphon some of the money into their personal coffers by slick book-keeping and other untraceable means. -Tom

The number of jobs created isn’t important. That is NOT what it was all about.

How much taxpayer money that got funneled back to Democrat Campaigns, and to the pockets of Democrat Cronies is.

New York State is doing this now, having thrown $750 million into subsidies for Elon Musk’s Solar City, which is probably on the verge of bankruptcy.

Not a lot of car battery jobs — but the money probably funded a lot of dachas for the nomenklatura.

I do know that my company is involved in L-Ion batteries for UPS systems.

I can’t wait as those VLRA’s are hell. This new technology needs no assistance from the goobermint.

,” and boasted that the industry was “projected to create almost 62,000 new jobs” in the state. “We have a whole industry sprouting up all over the state with respect to the battery,” Granholm said in 2010.”

She should be forced to prove this claim! And when she Can’t, JAIL HER For FRAUD and Misappropriation of Funds
