There should be disclaimers or health warnings on the bottom of polls.
I'd be having a serious discussion with anyone and then they'd say "look at the polls, he's not doing well". I'd roll my eyes and then turn the conversation into comparisons. They'd still bring up the polls. I'd give up. Now I simply answer "If Trump is not doing well in the polls, then vote for hill".
