The Cruz/Rush/National Review strategy - (vanity post)

I think that I now understand that Cruz and Rush and even the National Review have all been on the same page with a strategy that is about to fail. Let Trump knock out all the other candidates and then Cruz can knock out Trump. It might have worked if Cruz had been more likable but he's Godawful. I've had reservations about Trump from the beginning, but if Phyllis Schlafly's on board, so am I. If Trump morphs into some kind of typical liberal after he becomes president, we'll fire him

The pundit class (which includes Rush, Levin, National Review, etc) has a symbiotic relationship with the political class. Doing everything in their power to prolong the stagnant turmoil of the status quo makes perfect sense to them.

Cruz strategy from the start was to ride Trump’s shadow. While Trump took out all the other candidates, Cruz refuse to attack Trump. It was a smart strategy, but the moment Cruz start attacking Trump he lost big

People love Trump. It's obvious from the crowds and excitement he generates. It's also unanimous from the people that know him personally, or who have worked for him.

The opposite is true of Cruz. Those who know him best dislike him most.
