You have forgotten about the Biblical concept of “The Remnant.” Where there is a segment, however marginal, of society firmly bound to its traditions and morals it will eventually regain its authority as the benchmark for that culture. Think the Jews and review their ancient history.
Christianity is predicated upon the principles laid down by Moses. Guidance by the One True God is ultimate and unchangeable.
