Trump and Affirmative Action

by ROGER CLEGG March 11, 2016. One addendum to David French’s post on the Michelle Fields matter: She was asking Mr. Trump about his stance on affirmative action, and rightly so. Despite his anti-p.c. reputation, Mr. Trump is on record this campaign as saying that he is “fine with affirmative action,” and he criticized Justice Scalia for raising the “mismatch” point at oral argument in the Fisher v. University of Texas case.

No worries. Trumpkins will continue to support their “Dear Leader” even if he says Planned Parenthood does wonderful things, and is unwilling to have the gay marriage decision overturned. Billy Mays alright!

Trump supporters need to get him up to speed on the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers and the 10th Amendment.

Wonder if Ted Cruz got into Harvard because of affirmative action?

From what I can tell, Ted has said that he doesn’t know.

If all you can offer is superficial things, don’t expect Trump to get any the less popular by comparison.

This old thing about the non abortion and abortion wings of PP is a particularly unhelpful straw man. It was set up that way doubtless for the name equity, and “conservatives” keep on falling into that old snare to this very day, as liberals who weren’t making moral distinctions suddenly start to do so just to discombobulate the “conservatives.”

I’m no huge fan of AA. But while it exists, the most can still be made of it. It is one of many band-aids for an old problem of American racism that has been egged on mostly by Democrats. Republicans could have a field day on the topic of “Why has AA been needed?” Pointing right square to the Democrats.

No worries. Trumpkins

I see that the taking a page from the liberal book of insults continues apace on here.

Trump could advocate for seizing homes via eminent domain to pay for socialized medicine for union workers’ abortions while yelling ‘Hail, Satan!’ and making out with Al Sharpton and his supporters still would care.

Don’t hold your breath. Trump himself said it, that his devotees will take a hail of bullets for him in the middle of Fifth Avenue and they’d still pull the lever for him.

We can't take away affirmative action just when white-males need it!!!

A certain percentage of the Trumpites who previous recognized affirmative action correctly as “reverse discrimination” will now say that affirmative action is good as long as it is Donald Trump who manages it.

The conservative “center/core” cannot hold and is desolving before our eyes under Cult of Personality pressure.

National Review garbage.

So are you saying that Trump never said he was "fine with affirmative action?"

Trumpkins hear/see/say no evil when it come to their dear leader. They just mock us as RINOs and GOPa establishment trolls.

They are not conservatives, nor are they Republicans. They want a race between two libs, Trump and Clinton.

We loose.
