To: NOBO2012
I think 1984 was required reading for my U of IA comm skills course. I really got engrossed in it. Along with it I read Down and Out in London and Paris, something at the top of the world, and I skipped one about growing up in New Guinea, possibly by Margaret Mead.

Maybe I should read 1984 again, but I see how much of it has proven prophetic. I never cared to read Animal Farm or any other books where animals are personified.

You should read Animal Farm it describes our current state perfectly. Who doesn’t think of politicians as pigs? Some pigs are more equal than others...
