President Trump and the 2017 State of the Union
The Dayton Daily News ^ | January 12, 2016 | Jay Bookman - The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The transcript of the 2017 State of the Union address, as delivered by President Donald Trump:

Thank you. Thank you. I have to say, nice building, this Capitol. Nice room. But too old-fashioned, don't you think? I do this all the time. I acquire these rundown old properties, I buy them cheap, I bring in my decorators, we fix it up. More mirrors, more gold trim, a nice statue of me ... we'll have it looking beautiful. Come back next year, you'll be amazed.

There's our new First Lady, Melania, up in the balcony. First supermodel in the White House. Amazing no one thought of it before. See that empty seat next to her? That's for Ted Cruz. Not here anymore. Nice guy. Smart guy. Everything I say, he agreed with me. Everything I say. So I said go back to Canada, Ted, where you belong.

So Ted, he's the first immigrant I deported. More to come, I promise you that. We have to do it. Ted can run for prime minister up there, he'll do great. Cold, but great.

See the other empty seat? Right here, behind me, next to Speaker Pelosi. (Can you believe the face on that one?) That's for my new vice president, Marco Rubio. He never showed up here when he was a senator, so I told him, why should you show up now? Stay home. Get yourself a nice glass of water, take off those high-heels, turn on the Home Shopping Network. Such low energy.....

Hilarious! The writer nailed the Trump syntax perfectly.

~~Syntax? Really? I hear people talking about that a lot. It’s really no one’s business if it’s within a law. We’re gonna do something about that syntax. You’ll see it go away, really fast and you’ll love it~~

I was just commenting to my husband, next year when Trump gives his state of the union message, the ratings will go through the roof!

This article is funnier than heck. Great writing. My laugh for the day. I’m going to save it in my Trump folder on-line; it’s a keeper.

Good morning America! Just received some great news out of New Hampshire! I thank you for the support. I love being out on the campaign trail & meeting so many of you. I assure you that if I become your next POTUS, I will NOT let you down! We will make America great again!

“How many Supreme Court cases has Trump won? I think Cruz is standing at 5 out of 9.”........

Where he belongs, in the SCOTUS

In a somewhat less sarcastic tone, let me say this:

I think the ability to argue the Constitutionality of public policy such as whether the Bush administration should be able to usurp capital punishment in Texas by deferring to international treaties is characteristic of the kind of political acumen Free Republic readers ought to value.

Cruz contributed to major legal arguments in Heller that bolstered and preserved second amendment gun rights.

Cruz has argumentation abilities that are vital to the kind of corrosive intellectual culture we live in. He defeated a RINO in Texas in order to become Senator and has served us well here— much better than John Cornyn.

We need someone who is deft at public argumentation. Cruz’s performance in the CNBC debate where he blistered the moderators by synthesizing a long set of hostile and ideologically bigoted questions— including those directed against Trump— is characteristic of the kind of hostility any conservative candidate will necessarily face in being President.

I do not despise trump. I don’t think he is nearly as good as Cruz and I am confident he is not nearly as conservative.

I have witnessed a lot of BS on these threads but never thought I would see FReepers slam a person for his wealth. Cruz supporters sound like Bernie supporters. Cruz himself would never do that. I am proud of Trump’s success, Ted’s accomplishments also. They both love this country. They both are on our side.

This would make an excellent cold opening for SNL.

I heard he was going to limousine the windows, adorn the trim with dingle berries and install bean bag chairs for comfort in “The Beast”.

After polling results come back in the affirmative, he may even have it lowered, paying the $10 for it, out of his own pocket....

Cruz has lost five?
Trump never lost a Supreme Court case. Just ask him.

This is a lighted hearted spoof, and yet the children are antagonizing each other. Some comments are almost to the point of “my thingy is bigger than yours.” Pathetic. Grow up.

Come on he was the editor for the Harvard Law review, that counts for something. I can think of a at least one other residents which were groomed that way. That’s got to count for something, right.

“How many Supreme Court cases has Trump won? I think Cruz is standing at 5 out of 9.”

I’d be more impressed if either Cruz or Trump told the Supreme Court that it issues OPINIONS, not legally binding diktates. The black-robed fascists are out of control and need to be reminded that their friggin’ OPINIONS can only become law if the Legislature agrees with a judicial OPINION and passes legislation that agrees with that OPINION.

Rafael Cruz has never created a single job by himself except perhaps hiring a baby sitter occasionally. Actually Rafael has a made a very nice living cashing government checks all his life.

If Rafael Cruz had not pushed for the cheap labor express again and again, I would look at his candidacy more favorably. But why take my word as truth, just listen to Rafael himself on official recorded video's. By the way there is nothing in the US constitution to provide a path to legal status for illegal immigrants.

Path to Legal Status for Illegals

Cheap Foreign Workers on H1-B visa

Pushing TPP

Cruz pushing import of Syrian Refugees:

Donald Trump created more than 100,000 jobs all by himself.

Rafael Edward Cruz may have hired baby sitters occasionally. Just ask him.
