A 27-year-old Ypsilanti Township woman was duct-taped and led into a back room while five young men ransacked her home early Thursday morning.
The woman and her boyfriend, a 24-year-old man, were sitting in the living room at their home in the 500 block of Bagley in Ypsilanti Township when there was a knock at the door around 12:36 a.m., according to police.
When the woman answered the door, five young men burst in the door and pushed her to the back of the house where they duct-taped the woman's wrists, Derrick Jackson of the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office said.
The man was kept at bay in the living room of the house, which had a significant medical marijuana grow operation in it, Jackson added.
"They (took) money, marijuana and video games, then fled out of the home," he said.
No one was injured in the incident.
The five suspects were described as young, black males. One male was said to be 5 feet 7 inches tall, heavy set with a gap in his teeth. The victims were unable to provide more detailed descriptions for the other suspects.

I feel lucky that nobody ever breaks down my door to steal my medicine. Not sure what people would want with a large supply of antacid, but I feel lucky.

Why anyone would open their door at 12:36 am is beyond me. They were smoking dope?
Dont open doors toanyone you arent expecting. Ever. Be armed when opening doors.

Sorry, but their losses are TUITION; you pay and get a little smarter.
They DESERVED what they got after acting with such brash stupidity.

With the odor emanating from the house, no wonder the place was robbed. I am having a blast with the medical narijuana growers in my area, the three places had high UPPCO bills, and the UPSET program has been closing places down quite readily. So the three places had UPPCO turn off the electricity, because they failed to make a payment arrangement plan. Lo and behold they went to the Family Independence Agency (DHS), to get assistance to have the electricity restored. UPPCO did not sign any paperwork for emergency shut-off. Today DTE Energy came by to shut the gas off too. Also the water was shut off to all three. What a joy!
Stole marijuana and video games? Probably making brownies and having a party.

Opening the door at 1236 am, wow. I guess those are business hours.
But, you would think that if the robbers knew they were raiding a pot house, they would have worn masks, vests and yelled police or DEA! The pot smokers would already be extra paranoid anyways.
I would imagine that midnight/pre-dawn home invaders pose as cops a lot now.
Such a tactic might even delay an investigation because the local police would have to determine if an other agency did a SWAT raid at the house.
Of course the most common victim of these ‘youths’ are black people, so maybe that isn't a race, but some type of racist organization?
All sarcasm aside, I'm sorry the two were robbed by crooks, and hope that the local police department helped mitigate the pain by seizing property.

I used to be a deputy out that way. That part of ypsi township was called “little Vietnam” due to the random and continual gunfire. The first time I rode second man in that area I was instructed to remove my seatbelt because “you can’t duck while wearing a seatbelt”.
