I remember in 1966 being o a destroyer out of Brooklyn Naval Yard. While in port, our ship was responsible for the Iowa and the Wisconsin, both part of the mothball fleet. In making my rounds on security watch, I was amazed by all the wheat. The 2 ships were being used as glorified grain storage warehouses.
