Social media is awash with striking images of #EmptyShelvesInVenezuela (#AnaquelesVaciosEnVenezuela) as the evaporation of basic human staples such as toilet paper has now been hyperinflated to total chaos at warehouses and supermarkets. As President Maduro decries the loss of $100 oil "stability", vowing to return oil prices to their rightful places (and heads to China for help), lines reach for miles for milk and soap... and the people defy governmental bans on photographing empty market shelves... "We couldn't find shampoo, so we washed our hair with soap. Now there's not even soap."

I’ve been stocking up on food.
Not good enough. You also need toilet paper.
So I walk around wearing DE CAP "IT-ATE".
Those socialists/progressives sure know how to live. They have been “thriving” like this wherever they go and have been doing it for years with the same results. Those “smart” little socialists/progressives/communists or whatever they call themselves sure are “smart.” s/
What we really need is a generator to run our well’s pump when the power goes out!
But I will stock up on TP. ;-)
...and toilet paper.
Don’t bother bringing any hats. You won’t need them.
LOL. And Obama would STILL Get 47% of the vote. Heck, Chavez won reelection! I simply cannot believe how dense people are.
Looks like the grocery shelves right here in one TX town. I posted a while back the entire dairy section was empty except for a handful of cream cheese thanks to an idiot manager.
Example: a stuffed FULL shelf of fat free half & half (?) below a completely EMPTY shelf of real half & half.
Fat free half & half is food for the oxymoronic.
"Without guns, people are without power. That is why every dictatorship begins with removal of guns from the hands of the people."
.
In fact, life at Versailles would have been a lot more sanitary had there been a Porta-Potti contractor in the neighborhood. Shocking lack of even the most rudimentary vespasiennes.
Your bourgeois anti-revolutionary thoughts have been recorded, comrade. We have assigned your home in that white neighborhood to an illegal alien family. Lawn? You'll be living on it.
The government is the main importer of goods and they do it like real perfect bureaucrats, by crisis.
One day they import canned foods but neglect all else. The next day the headlines are about the need for ibuprofen, so they order some of that - and ignore other needs.
There is no system of supply and demand and they have no idea what to demand until it is a crisis. Even as socialists, Venezuela is incompetent.
When toilet paper is a luxury good you will know that socialism has been achieved.
He got to count the votes and employ the thugs and threaten the opposition with prison.
The guy who ran against Maduro is still in prison isn't he?
In Venezuela, running water is a luxury good that happens sporadically - a dew hours a day.
The power too, often as not.
