America; once the world’s greatest bastion of anti-communism now celebrates it

Obama now sides with one of the most repressive communist regimes that has tortured and killed legions in Cuba

President Ronald Reagan who once famously told Soviet Union Leader Mikhail Gorbachev, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall,” must be rolling in his grave.

America, through a branch of the Michigan State Department of Natural Resources, now boldly and openly celebrates the ideal of communism.

Two days before the countdown to midnight celebrating 2015, the Michigan Historical Commission, a branch of the state’s Department of Natural Resources, announced it would be placing an official historical marker, which in essence honors unrepentant domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) for giving an unwitting world the “Port Huron Statement”.

The historical marker will be placed at a United Auto Workers camp outside of Port Huron in St. Clair County where SDS radicals wrote their pro-communism manifesto that came to be known as the “Port Huron Statement” in June 1962.

The largest communist nation in the history of our planet, is the one nation, which with our support just grew to overcome America.

Just saying.

Good time to re-read Lincoln's letter to Henry L. Pierce and others. In it, Lincoln's understanding of the ideas of liberty, of Jefferson's role in "encapsulating" those ideas in our Declaration of Independence, and the importance of distinguishing those ideas from those which interpret the word, "liberty," to mean something other than that of the Declarion.

Springfield, Ills, April 6, 1859

Messrs. Henry L. Pierce, & others.

Gentlemen

Your kind note inviting me to attend a Festival in Boston, on the 13th. Inst. in honor of the birth-day of Thomas Jefferson, was duly received. My engagements are such that I can not attend.

Bearing in mind that about seventy years ago, two great political parties were first formed in this country, that Thomas Jefferson was the head of one of them, and Boston the head-quarters of the other, it is both curious and interesting that those supposed to descend politically from the party opposed to Jefferson should now be celebrating his birthday in their own original seat of empire, while those claiming political descent from him have nearly ceased to breathe his name everywhere.

Remembering too, that the Jefferson party were formed upon its supposed superior devotion to the personal rights of men, holding the rights of property to be secondary only, and greatly inferior, and then assuming that the so-called democracy of to-day, are the Jefferson, and their opponents, the anti-Jefferson parties, it will be equally interesting to note how completely the two have changed hands as to the principle upon which they were originally supposed to be divided.

The democracy of to-day hold the liberty of one man to be absolutely nothing, when in conflict with another man's right of property. Republicans, on the contrary, are for both the man and the dollar; but in cases of conflict, the man before the dollar.

I remember once being much amused at seeing two partially intoxicated men engage in a fight with their great-coats on, which fight, after a long, and rather harmless contest, ended in each having fought himself out of his own coat, and into that of the other. If the two leading parties of this day are really identical with the two in the days of Jefferson and Adams, they have perfomed the same feat as the two drunken men.

But soberly, it is now no child's play to save the principles of Jefferson from total overthrow in this nation.

One would start with great confidence that he could convince any sane child that the simpler propositions of Euclid are true; but, nevertheless, he would fail, utterly, with one who should deny the definitions and axioms. The principles of Jefferson are the definitions and axioms of free society.

And yet they are denied and evaded, with no small show of success.

One dashingly calls them "glittering generalities"; another bluntly calls them "self evident lies"; and still others insidiously argue that they apply only to "superior races."

These expressions, differing in form, are identical in object and effect--the supplanting the principles of free government, and restoring those of classification, caste, and legitimacy. They would delight a convocation of crowned heads, plotting against the people. They are the van-guard--the miners, and sappers--of returning despotism.

We must repulse them, or they will subjugate us.

This is a world of compensations; and he who would be no slave, must consent to have no slave. Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves; and, under a just God, can not long retain it.

All honor to Jefferson--to the man who, in the concrete pressure of a struggle for national independence by a single people, had the coolness, forecast, and capacity to introduce into a merely revolutionary document, an abstract truth, applicable to all men and all times, and so to embalm it there, that to-day, and in all coming days, it shall be a rebuke and a stumbling-block to the very harbingers of re-appearing tyranny and oppression.

Your obedient Servant
A. Lincoln--

"Posterity! you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom! I hope you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it." - John Adams, Letter to Abigail Adams, 1777

"[Our Departed Ancestors] task (and nobly they performed it) [was] to possess themselves, and through themselves, us, of this goodly land; and to uprear upon its hills and its valleys, a political edifice of liberty and equal rights; 'tis ours only, to transmit these, the former, unprofaned by the foot of an invader; the latter, undecayed by the lapse of time and untorn by usurpation, to the latest generation that fate shall permit the world to know. This task of gratitude to our fathers, justice to ourselves, duty to posterity, and love for our species in general, all imperatively require us faithfully to perform. How then shall we perform it? At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never!--All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Buonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide." - Abraham Lincoln, January 27, 1838

Right after the Kenyan came to power, I heard a black woman talking to Rush. Rush said something about socialism. She responded with, “What’s wrong with socialism?” Right then, I knew America was in deep s-— and headed for the sewer. I knew Alexis de Toqueville was right.

If all there was to it, that we have a president and his close advisers who believed in a different economic system than we have; socialism vs capitalism, we could tolerate it and change it next election.

But instead, we have an impostor, a person who is placing the country in peril with his destructive actions in the military, foreign relations, releasing terrorists who pledge to take our country, who is destroying our medical profession......

So what are we going to do about it other than complain?

We elect jellyfish to our congress when real men would impeach.

The problem is much worse than you describe. Half of our people (and growing more every day) prefer material comfort to freedom.

If it were not so, Obama could never have been elected to begin with.

What we are witnessing in cities across the country is Cloward-piven’s Helter-Skelter, the race war that was planned to take the place of the class war in the American Marxist revolution.

The former college radicals have taken over our school systems and colleges. The saying used to be, those who can, do, those who can’t teach. The Communist take over of education has changed that by discouraging private enterprise and made “profit” a dirty word in academic vernacular.

Old-line Communists are now at risk of becoming the “reactionaries” they once despised and denounced.

The “new Progressives” have modernized and streamlined the way the state’s supremacy in all matters is extended and strengthened. They have sort of stayed within the officially recognized institutions and traditions, but distorted the very meanings of the words used to define those institutions and traditions.

The territory once known as “the United States of America” has become a parody and mockery of itself. And all in the name of “political correctness”.

I knew we were in trouble when my stepson’s friends asked the same question. I did my best to educate, but many of them are out-of-work, collecting disability or unemployment, or some do have jobs, but are dope-fiends.

Yeah, I suppose socialism doesn’t look so bad to them....too bad I have to pay for it all.

*Maybe message did get through, one did go on to be a marine, fought in Iraq, and I’m better friends with him than my stepson is.

The act by Michigan people set forth in the article is not surprising as the left has been in total control of public opinion since the 1930’s. The left owns the educational establishment, organized religion, the political/economy, entertainment and other cultural institutions. Western Civilization is rapidly collapsing under leftist leadership of the Third World demographic assault.
