Lets be honest.

They are not looking to license cats to do anything about stopping cats from being cats..

They are looking for the money that comes with selling the license.

Well, Michigan IS pretty broke. They’re most likely seeing Dollar Signs everywhere they look; just doing what Good Little Government Drones do!

City Looks to License Cats For Acting Like Cats

They should kidnap the cats and hold 'em for ransom.

They could use SWAT if a cat takes refuge in it's home.

We had a feral cat problem in our “neighborhood” when we first moved here. Apparently this area had been a dumping ground for unwanted cats. Over time, the wild animals seem to have addressed the issue, but for a time it was difficult.

Licensing is just another way for the state to make money.

People are obliged to control their animals, but owners of outdoor cats seem to believe that this does not apply to them.

They do cause problems in a suburban setting, crawling all over cars, tracking them up, scratching the paint, marking doormats and leaving hair all over other peoples’ front porch, killing wildlife that others might want to attract rather than see killed and eaten.

People, control your animals. If they’re wandering around unattended they can get hurt or killed, and others may not appreciate their particular attributes being exhibited on their property.

Try being considerate, that always helps. Keep them contained to your own property and if you can’t, keep them inside.

When dogs go onto others’ property, and defecate or kill some animal, people get justifiably upset. Yet when cats do the same thing, people are apparently supposed to tolerate it because “that’s what cats do” and “I can’t control my cat.”

Dog owners always seem to act way more courteous about this issue. They generally don’t seem to think their animal has a right to come on your property and do whatever it wants.

I am not against this.We certainly have a problem in our neighborhood. Cats are small and people seem to think cats are not a problem when they are.

My son has a convertible and cats using his car like a scratching post makes for a pretty expensive scratching post.

We went through a point with a nasty cat that sprayed and would poop on our front porch. Thank goodness that mangy, sickly looking cat disappeared (no, we didn’t disappear it). It was an odd cat— it would poop all over our yard and flowerbeds without any interest in covering the mess. That is not normal cat behavior.

We have problems with cats wanting to walk our fence just to aggravate our dogs. The cats will hit the fence at night, walk it, lay on it and hang body parts down causing our dogs to bark.

I am darn tired of cat owners thinking dog owners must live by different rules. If you have a cat, love it, be responsible and keep it inside your home.

I am also darn tired of every mixed dog that has markings similar to a Boxer being labeled a Boxer-mix by animal control or people who are afraid to admit they own a terrier mix.

I don’t agree with the label pitty dogs get but I also HATE ignorant people suspecting my Boxers of being a terrier. One breed suffers bad press, don’t cause another to suffer the same bad Boxers absolutely don’t have the same history or number of attacks behind them but they have people using their good nature to try and hide behind.

I walk my dogs one at a time to ensure I have complete control. There are people who carry a huge stick with their little, aggressive dogs.

My dogs won’t bark and barely look their way but the others have yapping, snarling little dogs that they don’t correct these dogs and THEY carry a huge stick. It is bull poop. Seriously people. Your dog may be small but manners count.

I also hate picking up poop for owners who think it’s OK to let their dog crap wherever and leave it. Cat owners seem to think their animal crap is OK, too.

I pay good money to keep my pet vetted and well cared for, I don’t appreciate walking over, around and mowing through other peoples pets shit (and worrying what disease that animal may carry—because if they don’t care where it shits, they probably don’t care about its health).

I take care of my pets and I can mow my back yard with no worry of a poop walk, because I clean after my animal. *end of rant*

Cats also kill rats, mice, and even bugs. Beside less birds less crap.

Any government license is a government permit to allow you to do something that is illegal. Therefore it is illegal to own cats.
