Massive U.S. aid overwhelms Afghans

American officials have spent billions of tax dollars "setting up projects or programs that the Afghans cannot or will not sustain once international forces" leave Afghanistan, according to a government watchdog.

"Afghanistan is a case study in projects and programs set up without considering" whether they can be continued, said John Sopko, Special Inspector-General for Afghanistan Reconstruction.

Sopko's comments came in a speech Friday to a meeting of the Center for Security Studies at Georgetown University.

The problem is the sheer magnitude of the reconstruction effort, which is bigger than any ever before undertaken by the U.S.

"Last year, the Afghan government raised about $2 billion in revenues. Next year, it hopes to raise $2.4 billion, although recent reports we have received put this goal in serious doubt," Sopko said.

"With stated budget needs of approximately $7.6 billion, unfortunately the Afghan government will not be able to meet its budget without continued and significant donor assistance," he said

Better yet, Afghanistan cannot afford its army and police forces to protect itself.

They grow 50% of the world’s opium poppies.

There’s plenty of money there.

When we leave, the Taliban will be in control in less than 10 days.

“Winning their hearts and minds” with American tax dollars, much of which has to be repaid to the ChiComs.

Another brilliant American foreign policy success.

This is simply Obama wasting billions with his goal to bankrupt the US. Why the Democrat Party supports this is the question.

We need a study to show how soon the US will be unable to pay for congressional retirement. That could solve many problems.

An excerpt from the link.

....When we build things the Afghans can't use, and when we don't take their resources into account, we're not just wasting money; we're jeopardizing our mission of creating a self-sustaining Afghanistan that can keep insurgents down and terrorists out," he said.

You have to be naive as hell to think that all this was not pre-planned. Instead of setting up capitalistic ventures which could be perpetuated and grown once the US and its money leaves, this regime went all out commie. They created an unsustainable welfare state.

Anyone surprised.

It was planned and the goal all along.

If you are a terrorist/terrorists sympathizer and willing to trade five Taliban leaders for one traitor plus 50 million bucks would you have any problem helping the Taliban takeover when we leave?

Pretty simple to figure out.

When we leave, the Taliban will be in control in less than 10 days.

Or there will be a new group known as "ISIA" to go along with ISIS and ISIL.

moslem nations don’t want our help - and do not care about establishing democratic freedoms for the people living within their borders...

Pick a moslem nation - look up the human rights reports and abuses...absolutely horrible...and then they bring that same mindset into other nations that have established rights and cry and yell saying everyone must respectful to theirs....backwards thinking - and very dangerous...

The answer is that the Demonicrats, in their political heart of hearts, are traitors to the United States of America.

Yes, but because of our Global Ruling Elite media and academiawho fail to properly record and teach history, every new generation thinks they know better, that they’ve invented a new solution - “Hey, we’ll just give them someone else’s money, and they’ll love us for it, because deep down, they’re just like us, then we can all get along!”.

I predict within 2 years (at the outside) after we leave, you will be unable to tell we ever occupied Afghanistan.

From the beginning, I thought it would be better to bomb the daylights out of the Taliban and just quarantine Afghanistan as a whole.

Some places are just ungovernable....Afghanistan is one of them.

Perhaps we can convert the Afghans from Islam to a form of the Cargo Cult religion.
