Skinner has created a new website, discussionist.com, that is supposed to be open to all, unlike DU.
Civility, or the lack thereof, is the criterion for hiding a post, not political position. I just joined up so I don't know about the criterion for banning, if any.
At any rate, I hadn't been on for 30 seconds before I was invited to join a jury. I voted to left the post stay, but was outvoted 5-2.
Anyway, when you're caught up on the discussions here, maybe you might like to introduce some logic and facts into the discussions over there.
Or maybe not.
Any thinking person knows that conservatives are going to have their posts knocked down by a “jury”
Yes, I think so. But I always enjoyed debates on DU when I was doing that. I got banned 5 or 6 times, and in fact am registered now.
I don’t post much. I’ll just get myself banned again, and I’ve run out of alternate IP addresses. I do like the cooking and baking sections, though.
I personally think FR is perfect they way it is.
An unapologetic conservative site with no voting allowed and god like moderators on high who allow far more freedom of thought than any user moderated sites.
bump
there’s nothing like FR. I most certainly agree.
Who is Skinner? What is DU?
Skinner is the owner of DemocraticUnderground, a left wing-nut site. Very entertaing, and educational if you want to know just how deluded the Left actuall is.
Not to everyone’s taste though. Some think it is like crawling in a sewer. And it is.
Gotta go.
I will respond to posts tomorrow, I hope.
sewer is an apt description of DU
DU Ping.
**Who is Skinner? What is DU? ***
An internet cesspool.
Pretty much. I just like to go slumming, I guess. Also, I love a good argument, not that you can get one on DU. Maybe on this new site.
I have a feeling this new site will end up being almost exactly like DU
Probably.
I’ve been kicked off DU 5 or 6 times. I don’t bother to post there anymore except occassionally. I’m still on, though.
We’ll see.
The goal there is to form a directed consensus.
They say “Broad brushed smears against groups of people” are not allowed.
Yeah,right.
.
Maybe, but I just joined up yesterday. Already I’ve been on two juries. Lost on one, but won on the second, 6-1. In this case the “offending” comment was about the Zimmerman fiasco, and racism in the black community.
The alert cited the post “racist bigot”. It was allowed to stand.
I’ll see. In the meantime, I do so love to puncture liberal sensibilities.
