If Obama had a son, he’d be just like Mike Sam. But he wouldn’t play football.

I guarantee you, that if, like Tebow, Sam helps lead his team into the playoffs, that they win a couple games in the playoffs, and then he gets ripped off the team, sent to those who won’t play him, and then blacklisted around the entire NFL....I guarantee you that, unlike with overtly Christian Tebow, there’ll be a media outrage screaming “discrimination!”

What do you have against him winning the Nobel Peace Prize? You should’ve listed it!

I doubt they would be so direct.

For example, what if every game he got a minor bone break? Nobody is going to get excited if he gets a finger or toe broken. But game after game, it adds up.

As a defensive end, if he is matched against a real runner, who goes out for a long bomb with every play, he is going to get a heck of a lot of running in with nothing to show for it.

Of course, they could collapse his side of the offense, so that he would charge onto their turf, and then they could nail him.

With constant competition, players come up with all sorts of dirty tricks.

The line on him before the draft was:

1. Great senior year, medium to good his other years. He grew into his game as he developed maturity against those less mature as football players. That won’t be the case in the NFL. They are not 4 years and out like the college ranks.

2. Too small.

3. Too slow. His combine numbers weren’t that great.

4. He plays with passion.

My guess is that he was drafted in the late 7th because that’s the risk the Rams were willing to assume and no more than that.
