Is she out of her mind? Right now it is the Consitution that prevents a complete progressive remake of America into a European socialist state

Goodbye 2nd amendment. Goodbye 10th amendment. Goodbye federalism in general.

Once a “convention of states” is opened, everything will end up on the table. Just like the last time a “convention of states” occured in 1787, which was initially designed to revamp the article of confederation

....”Once a “convention of states” is opened, everything will end up on the table”....

Couldn’t they limit this to a task at hand so that what we’ve seen this administration do cannot happen again?

It would be a tall order but obvious there is no mechanism in place ...’that effectively works soon enough’... to stop this in it’s tracks should we see this behavior in the future.

Seems to me they could limit the debate to specifics which would work in a timely fashion....something has to be done that will prevent this from happening in the future.

You favor a slow, sure, agonizing death over a high risk surgery that possibly kills you but could potentially heal you. Nothing ventured nothing gained I say.

"Goodbye 2nd amendment. Goodbye 10th amendment. Goodbye federalism in general."

Apparently you don't know how this works.

It takes 34 state legislatures to PROPOSE an Amendment. It takes 38 state legislatures to ratify.

Can you name even 1/2 of those legislatures (19) that would approve such change?

we are waving goodbye to those amendments, liberty, freedom and a whole host of other things now.

The states need to regain control and this is the mechanism provided by the founders.

Please stop embarrassing yourself with your ignorance. In no way can it ever be a run away convention.

You are disgusting calling Sarah out of her mind.

Why don't you educate yourself and research this issue.

The bottom line it can only be a Convention to propose amendments.

And if you think you will get 34 states to repeal the 2nd Amendment then you are indeed out of your mind.

The liberties and limitations enumerated in the constitution guarantee/prevent nothing. The structure it originally set up, its separation of powers is what secured our liberty, not parchment barriers. James Madison wrote extensively of this.

The NRA and other groups that can make life difficult for anti-2A politicians is why we have gun rights, not the words of the 2A.

Federalism and the 10th were repealed with the 17th.

States will not send schlubs off the street to a convention. They will limit the agency of their delegates to a convention to propose amendments. FL House bill HB609 is an example, and is available to read online.

See Federalist #40 regarding the federal convention of 1787. The Bircher and Publius Hoolah Moolah websites are BS.

If you think the government uses the written constitution, you are mistaken. Their governing document is a thoroughly rewritten Frankenstein Constitution in which all powers are rapidly collecting in the executive branch.

“Goodbye 2nd amendment. Goodbye 10th amendment. Goodbye federalism in general.”

That means you would have to find 34 states to eliminate those items. That is the protection. If you are correct that 34 states would approve of such actions, then again, we are already lost.

Article V was added to our constitution as a means to reign in an out of control federal government. We are now there and DC will certainly not fix the problem.
