Whether in early 2017 its President Hillary Clinton, President Jeb Bush, President Chris Christie, President Joe Biden or someone else, the individual occupying the Oval Office would face new limits on executive orders, Commerce Clause actions, a balanced federal budget and a ban on using international treaties to govern inside the U.S. if a state-based movement is successful.

Don't let this happen. Refuse to support anything that goes beyond the 17th amendment discussion.
The Conservative Objective ========================== Hold a Convention of States to deprecate the 17th amendment and give back to States their ability to determine the method of selecting their Senator to the U.S Senate.
Progressives Objective ====================== To co-opt the Convention of States, initiated multiple and conflicting debates and changes until such point as it transitions into a quasi Constitutional Convention or otherwise dies an ignoble death with no actionable outcomes.
Governmental agencies are legislating rather than Congress. That’s one thing we need to limit. Obamacare is full of “to be defined by the secretary of health”...meaning she’s the one to write the rules where the rubber meets the road. EPA is another out of control legislative body. And, when did the IRS get SWAT authorization? Why is the post office buying ammo?
...AFTER the next president (who is so inclined) uses them to undo all the illegal crap this president has decreed by fiat.
Yes yes yes! It's simple, effective and cannot be cheated.
And a commie judge will be found to overturn whatever they do.
I still don’t get the attraction of an Article V Convention: Calling a convention to pass new amendments, when the PTB don’t obey or ignore the ones we already have?
Repealing the 17th means States revert back to either electing, selecting, or appointed when choosing their Senators.
This translates to more power to the State as the Senator becomes a quasi ambassador or sorts to the Federal government, actually being responsible for and accountable to the State.
The rest won’t matter as the Executives and Agencies actually feel the pressure and suffer the consequences of cheating the States. There would be no way to avoid it and no way to ‘executive order’ your way out.
