Is Ann Coulter now turning on Ted Cruz?
The Daily Caller ^ | 20 Feb 2014 | Jamie Weinstein

First conservative icon Thomas Sowell turned on Ted Cruz, now it appears that Ann Coulter is souring on the Texas Republican as well.

Sowell published two columns this week slamming Cruz for being self-serving. Coulter praised the first of Sowell’s columns in a tweet Wednesday.

Later, in an appearance on Fox News’ “Hannity” Wednesday night, Coulter doubled down on her praise of Sowell’s anti-Cruz column: ”I never push anyone else’s column but mine. Today everyone has got to read Thomas Sowell’s article.” During the “Hannity” segment, Coulter attacked tea party groups for being filled with “shysters” and “conmen,” naming specifically the Senate Conservatives Fund as an example. The Senate Conservatives Fund was a key outside group that supported Cruz in his fight to “Defund Obamacare” last fall, which ultimately led to a government shutdown.

“And these people are just trying to get money off good Americans by saying we’re going after ‘establishment Republicans,” Coulter complained about tea party groups like the Senate Conservatives Fund. “How about going after Democrats?”

“Do not trust anyone who says they are trying to defeat ‘establishment Republicans,’” she added.

Without mentioning Cruz by name, Coulter railed against tea partiers who fail to understand that the “only way to repeal Obamacare is to elect Republicans.”

“It is not to be fighting against Republicans,” she said.

Coulter seems to be referring to Cruz’s recent threat of a filibuster earlier this month when a House bill to raise the debt ceiling came to the Senate floor.

“being filled with “shysters” and “conmen,”

They are in both parties.

Cruz’s long speech and advocacy actually had no effect on the government shutdown. As a senator, his actions are neither influential nor pertinent to House actions.

So it seems...so it seems.

The lure of celebrity and comity with RINOs and Democrat Masters and general acceptance in journaldom as a legitimate “loyal opposition” wonk is far, far stronger than just mere principles.

The cars, the condos, the parties, the speaking engagements, the book sales - all that are jeopardized by these upstart Tea Partiers....

Frankly, she’s shown us what she really is. And that is not pretty.

Forget Coulter. She’s long gone RINO.

But let me know when Thomas Sowell speaks to anyone for twenty-four hours straight. I’d like to hear that.

I feel Ted Cruz is serving me just the way I want him to!!

Trying to stop Obamacare & Runaway Spending!!

Exposing the RINOs, who vote with Obama !! ...with little or nothing in return.

We are all wise to the ruse of voting for cloture, giving Senate Dems the vote they want, then voting no so they can say I voted "No".

Anne likes the money. Becoming a RINO prostitute? She has done it before.

I understand a little of what Coulter is saying and I am concerned about fratricide, but Coulter’s past hawking of Christie leaves her a little suspect in my eyes. I have more regard for Sowell’s comments, quite frankly.

No one wants to have a civil war, but the GOP-e’s hands are filthy dirty here along with their Chamber buds, pushing amnesty, and publicly going after Tea Party types to Democrat journalists.

The GOP-e themselves need to stop their Tea Party assault. Why is it that the GOP-e NEVER goes after Democrats as viciously as they do against Conservatives?

The first one to really disappoint me was Michael Medved. I sometimes listen to his show but he is so caught up supporting the R establishment that I no longer feel he and I are allies. The same may be true of Coulter.

It is something that bothered me about Limbaugh a few years ago when he seemed to defend R’s at all costs. He seems to have moved away from that stance, however.

I moved away from it the day I turned from a strong defense of Nixon during Watergate. They all must be scrutinized. None of them are Gods.

And yes, that goes for Cruz as well, but until it exposes itself, he gets my support.

In the end, Republicans, conservatives, RINOs, so called conservative reporters, all turn on each other, burn each other, screw each other in the ground, and the commies stand around and laugh their heads off as “our so called side” commits suicide. It never ceases to amaze me how stupid and idiotic these mobs can be. They turn on each other to get position for themselves and in the long run screw up the entire bunch. This garbage is WHY I quit the republican party. I am now one of those so called independents. I won’t vote for a commie, socialist, liberal nut job, but then I skip over those in the RINOs that I refuse to vote for. I did not vote to Romney. I refuse to follow the “we have to keep Obama or hillary” out of office. Was McCain going to really be any better? Really? So I skipped him and did not vote that position. I do that with other races also. If there is not someone there that I can in good conscience vote for, then I skip. Don’t care what anyone thinks of that, I do what I believe is right to do. Just as everyone else here does.
