While it appeared Cracker Barrel caved with the first email, they were actually making a stand for the Robertsons and against A&E from a financial standpoint. Otherwise, they would have removed the Duck Commander products - but they proudly and clearly stated those were still available. If they were taking a stand for the Robertsons and against A&E, then the press release should have said so instead of the weasel words they used. Plus their subsequent press release should have also referenced what their true intent was in removing the merchandise.

They've gotten flack in the past for taking a stand so perhaps tried to do it under the radar this time. I agree the second release should've noted what their original intentions were, given the response to the first. Obviously, few noted that they kept Duck Commander items - the ones that don't make A&E one penny.

They did say so if you understand the ownership chain. They kept Duck Commander stuff, that’s stuff owned my the family with no A&E involvement; they pulled Duck Dynasty stuff, that’s stuff owned by A&E and Gurney productions. The problem they run into is that people don’t pay attention to corporate structure and who owns what. Seen it here on FR, somebody wanting to support Phil but not being a duck hunter could find no Duck Commander items that were useful to them, but they did find Duck Dynasty beef jerky so they bought that not knowing they were functionally supporting A&E. It’s complex world people need to do research.
