That doesn’t negate what was said by either myself or the other poster. Was there more than one adult in the area? Was there more than one adult in the room with her? Are there/should there be protocols that more than one adult has to be present, and if one adult leaves a room then the kids cannot leave. Those kinds of things.
Of course, this reinforces why I think public schools should be dismantled. There are always more inmates than guards, so to speak.

I said when this murder was first reported that the family may have transfered him to a new school if he had been having problems where they used to live. My money’s on him being a bad seed from day one and has a record of misdeeds as long as a 3 foot branch.
I want to see his mother, I want to see his father, I want to know about his home life for educational purposes.

No one is trying to say it is her fault, just asking a simple question, was there a process in place. If there was, was it followed?
And, if it was/was not followed, this crime would have caused some noise, it seems. Did no one notice it? Did not one find it odd the kiddo was rolling a recycle bin around? Lots of questions.

The protocol is probably that at least 2 teachers be “on duty”, and that a teacher is not alone with a student.
Having students do chores after school is probably not unusual. Rolling the recycling bin around probably raised no alarms at all, if anyone saw it.
Punishments when I was in school often involved staying after and doing chores.
Unless this is a private school, students wouldn’t be doing chores. No way, no how. I was in high school 30 years ago, we didn’t touch any of the janitorial functions. We may have been screwing around with something sports related, or helping out with a concession stand, but we did not do any cleaning.
