In an article on CNN.coms Belief Blog, CNN writer John Blake says that, while famous pastors preach in states where crosses and church steeples dot the skyline, they do nothing about the poor who cant get the health insurance they would receive if they lived elsewhere.
That refers, in turn, to the decision of twenty-five states not to participate in Obamacares expanded Medicaid funding. The states were allowed to opt out following last years controversial Supreme Court decision on Obamacare, which upheld the law as a whole but struck down the mandatory state participation in Medicaid expansion, citing the protection provided to state powers under the Tenth Amendment.

It’s funny because the Catholic Church is the largest provider of private healthcare in the U.S. But you know, it’s more important to be enslaved to an insurance plantation and pay taxes than it is to actually be healed according to obongo, so there you go.
You can lead a horse to water, but you can not make it drink.
God can lead a person, but the person must be willing to follow..
Someone with out insurance is that way because they want to be. Not because I or anyone else wants them that way.
No, Evangelicals and the conservative “other” Jews who aren’t hollywood super libs and leftie/commies. They are both definitely marked.
Backhanded attact on both Christians and the south. Typical eastern commie.
Health “Insurance” no longer exists, so what is this guy talking about?
If he means Health Care, I don’t recall stepping over thousands, hundreds of thousands or millions of dead bodies on my way to Mass.
The Poor have Medicaid, just like they did before Obamadoesnotcare was foisted upon us. All Obamadoesnotcare does is redefine the Poverty level up 250% so more People qualify for Medicaid. The road to Serfdom and all that Jazz.
Of course, ignorant people act surprised when the Middle Class “CONTRIBUTORS” get hit with the Costs.
One last thing regarding Obama’s Parents, apparently Erections have consequences far beyond their hooking up for a good time.
Nope. We got guns.
But maybe our pastors need to consider preaching a new Crusade.
not buying it. go and worship your liberal government god, libtard author.
i love’it when non-religious folks tell me what my religion says.
the same people who love the aclu going after us and destroying religious freedom are gong to lecture me and other christians about genuine christian charity, something they personally know nothing about?
ha.
AMEN!!!
You know they aren’t interested in the truth about Christians. Doesn’t fit their agenda.
Liberals are so small minded that they actually believe that if the government didn’t do it, then it could not have happened.
“”they do nothing about the poor who cant get the health insurance they would receive if they lived elsewhere.””
Are they going without health care here?
So the Christian pastors are supposed to make the state get in the extended Medicaid program and take money from the feds for that and then in three years the fed stops their money and the state is soaked from then on for those mega amounts of money and that breaks the state. Texas is not going to do that.
Texas did not get in that Medicaid new program so we won’t go broke. If the poor don’t like it, they can hitchhike to a state that is in that. We have food banks all over this state for poor people.
If the country keeps going like it is, we will all be poor and need food and if we don’t have our own food stored and fresh food growing ourselves, we won’t be alive. Someone said to me he wouldn’t want to live in times like that - well, he won’t.
The dip$hits in the media keep saying that these "mean, cruel" (Republican) states don't want to help poor people get healthcare.
No. They don't want their states going BROKE by paying for unfunded mandates like Medicaid expansion.
I'd call these people dishonest a$$holes, but I have nothing personal against a perfectly functional part of the human anatomy.
1) At its heart, ObamaCare is an income redistribution scheme. This is a form of socialism, which is built upon lies, coveting and theft. These are violations of three of the Ten Commandments. The Apostle Paul twice wrote that coveting was a form of idolatry, which itself was a sin. Jesus came to bolster, not to destroy the Commandments. As such it is a form of taking His name in vain to state that followers of Jesus are responsible for the failures of this outrageous socialist scheme.
2) Jesus supported charity, which is the voluntary giving of one person to another. He asked the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard in Matthew 20:15, “Is it not lawful for me to do what I want with my own?” This question destroys the mandatory income redistribution scheme as being morally legitimate. Indeed using coercion by government does not make any socialist scheme into a form of charity.
In charity, the ownership of the asset being given remains with the owner until the moment of the gift. In income redistribution, government intrudes by establishing a prior claim on the assets of citizen, and then extracts these assets by creditable threat of deadly force. This is upside down, inside out and night/day different from charity.
To say that the followers of Jesus are responsible for the glorious FAIL of ObamaCare or the plight of the Dependent Class is a lie and thus a sin.
Lastly, people cannot give what they don’t own. Ever-expanding government lodges a preemptive claim on an increasing percent of our incomes, and on the future, yet to be earned, incomes of our children. Socialism is a grave danger to our liberty and prosperity.

Why anybody would want to expand Medicare in their states is beyond me. Sure, the fedbeast will pay 90 percent now, but when they collapse or reduce spending, the states will be left holding the bag.
Where ya been? :)
Tyrants gotta have scapegoats, and the scapegoats gotta be plentiful enough, and/or hardy enough, to remain scapegoatable for as long as necessary.
All the better if the scapegoats are a little bit "different" from the people massed behind the tyrant.
Evangelicals fit the bill nicely. They're different because they believe in a Higher Power called God, rather than the power of the government.
I fear that this process is only beginning, and will get much worse before it ends.
“It’s hard to take care of the poor after the federal government confiscates 40% of your income. Let us keep just half of that, and you won’t have to spend a dime. “
My proposal —
Each current taxpayer stops paying taxes and ‘adopts’ a non taxpayer. Feeds, counsels, cares for, ... converts to a productive citizen.
Cheaper and more effective all around.
