Men bearing the costs of courtship is bunk.
Your average courting-age woman spends more on clothes and makeup and hair salons and nail salons, etc., etc.—let alone the time costs of putting it all together—than a man does in picking up a few checks.

I can tell you this. As a single man in his 30’s.........I don’t have a GD clue what women want. Every new one I meet is a brand new adventure in psychology.
They’ll say they want X, Y, and, Z. You provide that. And they then proceed to p!ss all over you for doing so. So much for being a “nice guy”.....that and $1.50 will get you a cup of coffee.
I love the concept but to this day I’ve yet to meet one that I couldn’t live without. Somebody throw me a line here....

Legalizing prostitution would help both men and women. Men wouldn’t have to “court for sex” like the author of this piece puts it. Many will disagree with me I know... Flame suite on.

I think women buy clothes and makeup to impress other women - not to so men will court them. If they wanted to buy things to encourage courting, it would be golf clubs.

I know a lot of women who spend a lot of money on cloths and hairdressers, etc. They are all married.
You are assuming that women only get dressed up to hook a man. The women I know would live in a shopping mall or beauty parlor if it were possible. They do it for themselves. They enjoy getting dressed up.

It’s unlikely that a woman buys a new outfit or get her hair done everytime she goes on a date, and she certainly doesn’t, as she becomes more serious about a guy and starts to feel less inclined to make an impression. However, on every date the guy pays for, he has to,put out new money as there is no way for him to recycle money as a woman might be able to re-use an outfit.
Over the long haul, in a traditional relationship, the guy probably does pay more.
