“Our nation is under a continual threat of” increasing spoiled rottenness with resulting irrational fears, temporary insanities and expensive, unreasonable wastes of time. All of the blowhards—public and private—are incompetent in guerilla warfare and have no reason to fantasize about it or try to prepare for it (as seen on TV, of course). But go ahead. Have fun. Enjoy the slide further into immorality. Word to the wise: don’t be guided by entertainment media, plotters or schemers trying to get something without using their own hands to do real work (as in production, repair, etc).
Every list you get on gains you valuable ‘FEMA POINTS’. These can be collected and used later in the camps.
I plan to use mine for an ‘up-grade’ to a cot near a window.
Having to completely evacuate a disabled vehicle presents more than one hostile target.
Actually, it's working the other way 'round. We're listening to the bad guys about their lessons learned about how to take out the MRAPs if used unlawfully here.
The bad guys have much more real-world experience. And that information is out there.

If they have thermals, jammers, comms and/or the CROWS system, upkeep would be a bitch, so would keeping operators trained up on all that crap.
That said, they're not so hard to keep running when stripped down as a rolling APC, as some here may think. It's just like a big heavy diesel truck, steering wheel et al. I think the engine is made by International or one of the well known truck manufacturers.
I'm not going to go into their breakability or lack thereof in a public forum - at this point anyway, but I gotta wonder WFT HLS wants with so many of these, if that is in fact the case.

How very true.
Leave it to our politicians to put the home forces into something that sucks fuel and wears out tires at a ferocious rate.
We’re just playing catch-up wit hour enemies who are far more experienced at this than we are.
And I can't see them trying to save one after it's been doused with a dozen cocktails.
"Fascinating."
They already know how. They developed many techniques over the past 5 years that are being discussed.
People don’t get it. With the passage of Comet Ison fron November to January there is going to be a significant event that Obama’s going to take advantage of. Why the billions of rounds and the MRAPS and the militarization of our Police? Why all the plastic coffins. Call me a conspiracy nut, but things are adding up quick. If people would just open their eyes.
I’m ready to start the revolution now - starting with Obamacare.
Not sure I’m ready for a MRAP to come down the driveway to my compound (It’s a farm, but they’ll call it a compound on that night’s news).
The whole thing stinks of a Government based on no rule of law.
less than 9 per county”
Colorado has 64 counties. 14 are populated beyond famers or mountains. That would allow 36 or so in every populated county and that could have a significant impact when you toss in hummers, trucks, tanks, and other military vehicles.
Of course that assumes posse comitatus is no longer in effect. Otherwise, you have to go with the much lower number assigned to DHS and locals and divide that by the number of counties in the US.

Besides MRAPS we are seeing various other lightly armor vehicles, adding to the total numbers. Maybe 4 per county at best.
I am not so concerned over MRAPS as they can take to the streets but only for a limited time before fuel, parts, and maintenance crews run short. That, and a few well placed sand pits and bulldozers take them out.
