Liberals Using Power of Taxes to Ban
Right Wing Patriot ^ | 8/29/2013 | Jeff Francis

Posted on 08/29/2013 7:19:02 PM PDT by digitalrainmaker

Progressive liberals are an underhanded and devious lot with the tenacity of a pit bull. They will stoop to any method to achieve their goals of total subservience to the almighty State. One of their tactics is to use the power of taxation as a means to ban items or behavior that they disagree with. Of course, if such behavior or items are protected by the US Constitution, they simply do not care.

The tactic is simple. Find an activity that they hate and want to curtail, then tax said activity until only the privileged elite (progressive liberals and their minions) are able to indulge. The latest attempt to curtail the average American’s liberties is called the “Gun Violence Prevention and Safe Communities Act” and is sponsored by blowhards William Pascrell, D-N.J., and Danny Davis, D-Ill. The bill would raise the taxes on bullets and cartridges from 11 percent to a whopping 50 percent as well as almost doubling the 11 percent tax on handguns that is currently in place. Naturally, all local, state, and federal agencies are exempt from this proposed legislation. Why should we serfs dare to expect that our government actually obey the same laws we do? We should allow our progressive liberal masters the freedom to carry out their grand vision that we are intellectually incapable of understanding. (/sarcasm)

Ain’t OBAMANATION great?

BTW, B. Hussein Obama, aka Barry Soetoro, could never have succeeded so quickly with the help of his BFFs John “jellyfish spine” Boehner and “Continuing Financial Resolution” McConnell.

In a way it's weird. When they didn't have the reins of government they were all about individual freedom. So you'd think it's just hypocrisy on their part, to be all for unlimited, unchecked state power just as long as they're in charge.

But that still doesn't make sense to me. Even if you're in charge, empowering the state to improper levels is a bad idea because eventually the worm will turn and the boot will be on YOUR neck. Better to keep government on a leash it can't escape, and then whenever the bad guys (whoever the bad guys may be from your perspective) are in control again, there's a limit to how bad they can screw you up.

Are we showing due respect to the Brezhnev wing of the Soviet Republican party?

They don’t have to worry about that because they know that conservatives will never use the power of the government in that way. Only liberals do that. In that sense, we are our own worst enemy.

Leftists know if you put the boot down hard enough the worm won't ever turn.

I agree. The one thing the right really could learn from the left is how to fight for what you want. Ruthlessly, no rules, no mercy, never let up, never let a guy up once he’s down, and never get discouraged and give up. Seems like that’s all R’s know how to do.

Agreed. From what I’ve seen, we have some guys (and some women) who know how to fight to win, but we never let them do it. That’s why we will never win.

You're exactly right. But we won't do it.

It was excessively honest when prohibition actually prohibited something.

Now they just declare a tax on it, and forget to print the tax stamps.

Filthy Filner cut a deal to get his pension as mayor before he quit. He threatened to screw up the city as much as he could unless he got his way.

I say he should get the pension for the rest of his life, and the city fathers should publicly put a bounty on him.

Oh, it turns, if not in the formal opposing parties, in the factions within your own. In a totalitarian system, today’s elites could be tomorrow’s labor camp and firing squad fodder if an interfactional rivalry goes hot. They should be careful what they’re asking for, because once they have “absolute power”, they won’t be able to trust a soul, not even their buddies.

Exactly. Thinking you have to fight liberals fair is like consulting your pocket copy of the Marquess of Queensberry rulebook before you spray the roaches with Raid. Just doesn’t apply.
