I have a poor copy of the 10 volume “Photographic History of the Civil War” The picture are kind of fuzzy but I have seen a first edition from the early 1900s and the pictures are very sharp and detailed.

I wonder what he would say about today about a President that has done everything he can since his first day one to divide the country, even in a local case, even purposely and deliberately putting the life of an individual citizen at risk because that citizen defended himself from an attack.

Of course nearly all the generals of the civil war were political officers. Lincoln had to have a large number of Democrat generals. The Confederacy had to do something with all the military friends of Jeff Davis.

Matthew Brady was a prick that had no problem taking “moral boosting” pictures of dead and bloated soldiers, as long as they wore grey uniforms. In 1863 he had an exhibition called the dead of Antietam or some such horse crap in NYC.
