I doubt I will be voting again until 2018, isn’t that when Cruz is up for reelection again? There is nothing in the Republican party for me, except Cruz and maybe Rand Paul.

But the Republican Party keeps asking its base to fill out faux “send us money” surveys with questions they themselves have crafted. They don’t seem to care what their base really thinks.

One major upside of the total downfall of the Republican Party is that Conservatives won't have to deal with the RNC’s lies, manipulations, and interference into Conservative issues. The Republican Party will be one less enemy for Conservatives to have to deal with.

The GOP base is just beyond the horizon, crossing the Rio Grande. All they need is “immigration reform” to set their people free to vote R. Meanwhile, unicorns prance among rainbows sprinkling skittles.

Do the name Nicolae Ceaucescu ring a bell?

It has seemed obvious to me for a long time that some of our most “trusted” “Conservatives” are in it for the other side.

Infiltration, lies, and perfidy, thy name is democrat.

They are fewer than we, but they are in charge of every important institution in the country.

All I can imagine when I think of the democrat party is muck and slime.

The only way to get out of the loser's bracket was to pander to as many minorities as possible . . . What leads political parties out of the wilderness is doing what your base wants.

Both sides are missing something. The real way to get out of the loser's bracket is to articulate why conservative principles are good for everyone. I don't believe Rove can explain, because he's not a conservative. He's a quarterback who wants to lead any team that will take him, and he'll plan the plays for his team even though all he cares about is putting points on the board, quickly, which is not in itself a bad thing.

The problem is that in the long term we need to articulate our case or elections will continue to come down to a bidding war, which we will always lose. The far left will always promise more free stuff for the lazy than we are capable of matching. We have to offer a real opportunity to contribute and to advance on their own merits and explain why freedom is better than the coddled slavery that the left is aggressively imposing.

Over here...

"...in 2012, things went back to normal for the Republicans. The party's Conservative grassroots activists were treated like Orwellian unpersons again. Mitt Trotsky and his putrid record as the governor of Taxachussetts were trotted out like a prized dancing horse by the RINO Herd as the only human being able to defeat a failing and flailing Barack Hussein Obama. Tea Party and Conservative candidates were treated like pariahs with leprosy and were openly opposed by the usual suspects (Rove, Kristol, Sheikh Ali Paul and the Paulestinians) and were defeated as the base blew off the 2012 Popularity Contest and stayed home."

How to win elections?

Get more votes than the other guys.

A more important question:

How to win elections and have it matter:

Strictly vet your candidates on core non-negotiable principles, hold them perpetually accountable to those principles, and to We the People, then get more votes than the other guys.

...it was determined that the Republican Party needed a "bigger tent". The gist of the report was this: The party was too white, too Christian, and too male.
And that's exactly what everyone who said they were too conservative to vote for the nominees in 2008 and 2012 were warned would happen -- you don't show up, you don't count.
