Perfect timing for the killers. Most people would blow off not being able to contact someone on a Saturday morning and into the early afternoon. If you’re not able to contact them by late afternoon, then you start worrying. By the time someone thought to check up on them, they had been dead for hours and the killers LONG gone from the area. Since this is a small, sleepy farming/ranching county, there are few is any security/surveillance cameras in use. So there is little hope to have caught the perps on camera. Same reason there are so few leads being made known in the Mark Hasse murder. I just hope the killers slip up and someone contacts the FBI or Texas Rangers. At this point, I don’t even trust the local and county law enforcement agencies.

Ditto on being awake during thunderstorms. I wake up to keep up with the weather. It’s been pounded into my consciousness over decades of severe Texas weather: thunderstorms can and do produce tornadoes with little or no advance warning. I hope someone saw something and contacts law enforcement. This kind of sh*t is not supposed to happen in Kaufman County. Good grief! People pull off on the shoulders of the farm-to-market roads to chit chat with friends and neighbors. When you go to the local cafe and someone you know walks in, you invite them to sit down with you. You meet neighbors at the store and stop to talk and gossip.

Sorry to ramble, but this happened in my county, my backyard. I am taking this personally.

If this had happened in a metropolitan county like Dallas, Collin, or Tarrant, I would have been horrified but not taken it personally. Sadly, you almost expect bad things to happen there. Not in a small county like Kaufman. :(

I am sick to the point I did not enjoy dinner today: and I am a big proponent of Easter Dinner. I am just disgusted I guess, this is my backyard, ya know?

We are a sleepy little country county. I am sick.

Don’t the cartels usually cut the heads off? Think about it.

We know very few details of the event, etc. I suspect that is on purpose at this stage in the process. I believe they know much more than they are putting out for public consumption.

I would have expected a surveillance system to be at the home of the DA. JMO..

Don’t let them spoil you and your family’s Easter. Know they will face judgment in either this life or the next.

Has anyone introduced information there was maybe a silencer on the weapon? The homes are approximately 100 feet separation. There maybe is more covering up the noise besides the thunderstorm?

You can purchase a silencer in TX.

The following by one of the manufacturers.

Suppressor shipping for buyers that live in Texas

For Texas buyers, you can choose one of the following:

Pick the suppressor up directly from us. In this case, we will work with you to transfer your suppressor and will notify you when it’s ready to pick up.
Have us mail the suppressor directly to you. As with the first option, we will work with you to transfer your suppressor and will notify you when the transfer is complete. Once the transfer is complete, we will mail you a form 4473 that you need to fill out and return (this is the same form you have probably filled out dozens of times when buying firearms, but no additional background check is required). Once we receive the form 4473 from you, we will mail the new suppressor directly to your house at no charge.
Have another Texas dealer handle the transfer. In this case, we will mail the suppressor to the dealer of your choice who will handle the actual transfer process for you. This is basically the same process as buyers who live outside of Texas, so check out the next section for more details.

Of course, those bad boys will follow all of the rules and sign the paperwork, just as they did when they bought (stole) their AR-15.

Didn’t realize one could be purchased. Thanks. Wonder if any suppressors or silencers have been found on illegals traveling in from Mexico? The border patrol should have this info if any have been found on illegals. If LE has not checked from the county, maybe is worth a check.

This legal/illegal debate about drugs is a sham. It’s all about money.

And the reason that money goes into criminal hands is because drugs are illegal.

Authorities searched the home of a former justice of the peace Friday in Kaufman as they continue to investigate the slayings of Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland, his wife and a top prosecutor. Eric Williams, a former justice of the peace in Kaufman County who was convicted of stealing county equipment last year, has not been named as a suspect. His attorney could not be reached for comment Friday but has said Williams is cooperating with investigators.
