This will KILL you but I missed out on getting a Fender Strat for just a hundred bucks. It was years ago at the Santa Monica police auction. The cops themselves ran the auction and they were HORRIBLE at it. They took way too much time. So the auction would begin early in the morning and run until late in the afternoon when most folks split due to boredom.

However, I came prepared with lots of reading material. So late one afternoon, when few folks were left, the cops displayed an ES175 Gibson which I bought for only $80. The very next auction was for a Fender Strat and it sold for only a hundred bucks but I missed out because I already spent most of my money.

Those cops are nuts. A Fender Strat for $100? That's crazy. BUT!.. a Gibson ES175 for $80?!?! That is Certifiably INSANE! (it's almost 'stealing').

No wonder cities don't make money with Auctions. They have no idea of what they have or the minimum value of the items. (Are they too lazy to do a quick Google search. Yep, I guess so.)
