The bigger scandal is the gun running operation, why Stevens was there and what was the purpose of the CIA Annex? There are arms that are now in the hands of militants who are using them to kill people (including Americans) in Algeria.
The media are being very silent on all this!
There are numerous reports in the press, including the New York Times, of arms going out of Libya to Turkey
The media has CIA gatekeepers - at least all the major outlets - so of course they're being silent on this. Occasionally a story leaks out, but it is quickly buried and sent to the memory black hole with no follow up.
