A majority of the youth of my generation only took four years to learn their lesson on Jimmy Carter.

I was a young skull full of mush during Jimmy Carter's presidency, but by the time his term was done, I was thoroughly disillusioned by politics. I didn't even vote in 1980, though I was 27 by that time.

Over the next four years, Ronald Reagan taught me that there was nothing whatsoever to fear from conservative Republicans, and in fact, their way produced the sort of results that were good for the country.

Still took me a while to escape the plantation, but eventually I did, and never looked back.

Yeah, I voted for him in '76P...'80P/G...'84P/G...
...my mistake was volunteering for Mitch McConnell (GOP-e) in '84.
