You and Jeeves are right.
We have never criminally gone after any President once they are out of office. That is one of the major things that makes America different and better. If we ever cross that threshold, it will not turn out to our betterment.
Impeachment and elections are our way.
I agree with everyone’s feeling that if ever we consider “more than un-electing” any President , this jerk is deserving.
Uh, I don’t think that makes us better. If someone commits a crime, which it appears the President has done (obstruction of justice comes to mind), we have a system of justice that should not allow him to go free. President or no President. We are all equal under the law and that is what makes America different and better.
As to whether or not Beck is right, I don’t know. His story is plausible. Obama is clearly covering up what really happened. It may have nothing to do with gun running. Several other plausible explanations come to mind as well. Still, the President is not above the law.
This congress and the next if it be Republican will likely do nothing. But when you say impeachment and elections are our way, remember impeachment has criminal penalties. Nixon was pardoned, but not formally impeached. Obama could be impeached and tried. Doubtful he would be convicted because of the civil unrest which would ensue. But it is not un-American to think of trying him criminally.
