I haven't watched the speech Paul Ryan gave last night at the Republican National Convention because I simply ran out of time. From some of the headlines I have seen, as well as the reports I have read, it must have been a rousing speech. The Hill headline reads "Ryan carves up President Obama". I plan on taking the time to watch it this evening, before Mitt Romney takes the stage in Tampa. Here is how America's Watchtower puts it.
Paul Ryan came out swinging and he didnt let up; hammering the Obama regime for broken promises, failed leadership, the economy, jobs, Obamacare, not passing a budget, not taking responsibility, passing the buck, the failed stimulus and the money funneled to Democrat donors, class warfare politics, Solyndra and make believe markets, the central planners in our government trying run our live from afar, and just about everything you could think of.One of the main stories on The Associated Press this morning is one they call a fact check. In it, they describe some of the "factual shortcuts" Paul Ryan supposedly took in his speech last night. They also tear apart many of the speeches given by the major speakers so far during the Republican National Convention. That's not surprising, but I can't help but wonder if they will apply the same effort to the speeches given next week during the Democratic National Convention. The answer to that is probably a resounding no.I am sure I left something out, but perhaps my favorite moment was when he called Barack Obama out on Medicare. Barack Obama has been telling everyone who could listen that Paul Ryans budget was a radical, extremist, irresponsible budget which would end Medicare as we know it. Paul Ryan reminded the American people last night that the only person who has actually cut Medicare was Barack Obama himself and declared that the biggest threat to Medicare was Obamacare. He turned the tables on Barack Obama on this issue and promised that this Medicare fight was a battle the Republicans will win.
If I could guess at the content and purpose of the speech given by Paul Ryan, I would have to say it was designed to rally the base and to point out the very real differences that exist between the presidency of Barack Obama and the prospect of a Mitt Romney administration. I keep coming back to this, but here we go. Let no one tell you there is no real difference between the two men and how they will govern. Make no mistake, Mitt Romney is not Barack Obama and Paul Ryan made that very clear last night.

You should watch the speech
It was very good
Almost as riveting as Sarah Palins speech in 2008
Eminently watchable and quotable
Also go back and watch the speech by Susana Martinez, she’s one to watch
Condi Rice was lackluster and subdued. I can’t shake the feeling she voted for obama in 2008
You can BET she voted for Obama in 2008.
Colin Powell
Colin Powell is a POSER.

How do you like THEM apples?
By all means, visit YouTube to see the video. I only provided the link to give one more place for people to watch it. Those apples are just fine, thank you very much.
The terms “The Associated Press” and “fact check” have absolutely no correlation with each other.
Susana Martinez was excellent, too.
I’d never heard of Fortuna.
He’s a sharp guy.
Cheers!
